9、 compliance to Specifi-cation D6817.5. Significance and Use5.1 This practice provides guidance on sampling of EPSgeofoam in order to determine compliance to SpecificationD6817.6. Procedure6.1 Initial Sampling:6.1.1 Select samples of the EPS Geofoam from a firstproduction lot to ensure compliance wit
10、h Specification D6817.Selection of samples shall be as agreed on between purchaserand supplier.6.1.2 Initial sampling shall include sampling of three sets ofspecimens. The sets shall be selected from different regions ofa single EPS Geofoam block. The regions shall include thecorners of the EPS Geof
11、oam block and the center of the EPSGeofoam block as shown in Fig. 1.NOTE 1Some EPS Geofoam suppliers may cut larger sized blocksinto two or three smaller sized blocks. The smallest dimension of the blockis the height.6.1.3 A minimum of five specimens shall be cut from eachof the three regions of the
12、 block. The specimens shall bedistributed evenly through the height of the block. The speci-mens shall not be selected adjacent to the surface of the block.6.1.4 The specimens shall be tested in accordance withSection 13.2 of Specification D6817.1This practice is under the jurisdiction of ASTM Commi

16、ressive resistance for the five speci-mens shall meet the requirements of Table 1 of SpecificationD6817 for the Type(s) tested. No individual sample result maybe less than 90% of the minimum requirement.6.2 Ongoing Sample:6.2.1 Select samples of the EPS Geofoam from ongoingproduction lots at the fre
17、quency noted in Table 1 to ensurecompliance with Specification D6817. Selection of samplesshall be as agreed on between purchaser and supplier.6.2.2 Ongoing sampling shall include sampling of one set ofspecimens. The set shall be selected from a random region ofa single EPS Geofoam block.6.2.3 A min
18、imum of five specimens shall be cut from therandom region of the block. The specimens shall be distributedevenly through the height of the block.
