1、Designation: E288 10 (Reapproved 2017)Standard Specification forLaboratory Glass Volumetric Flasks1This standard is issued under the fixed designation E288; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of last revision.
2、 A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon () indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval. This standard has been approved for use by agencies of the U.S. Department of Defense.1. 3、ss volu-metric flasks of precision and general-purpose grades suitablefor laboratory purposes.1.1.1 Class AEach flask of precision grade shall bemarked with the letter “A” to signify compliance with appli-cable construction and accuracy requirements. Flasks may bemarked with an identification number
4、 (serial number) at theoption of the manufacturer.1.1.2 Class BGeneral purpose flasks are of the same basicdesign as Class A flasks. However, volumetric tolerances forClass B flasks shall be within twice the specified range allowedfor Class A flasks. These flasks need not be marked with theirclass d
5、esignation.NOTE 1Specifications for micro volumetric flasks in sizes from 1 mLto 25 mL, inclusive, are given in Specification E237.NOTE 2The Twelfth General (International) Conference on Weightsand Measures redefined the litre as a “special name for the cubicdecimetre,” but agreed to permit continua

Therefore, either mL or cm3may bemarked on ware covered by this Specification.1.1.3 Special Size
7、 FlasksPrecision grade flasks may bemanufactured with nominal capacities not listed in this stan-dard. Such flasks shall be considered “Class A” flasks, pro-vided they meet the accuracy tolerance of the next largest“Class A” flask appearing in Table 1 and comply with themarking requirements of 1.1.1
8、.1.1.4 Wide-Mouth FlasksRequirements for insertion oftablets or capsules for assay dilution and to accommodateaccess of larger diameter pipets require volumetric flasks withlarger necks. These flasks appear in Table 2. These flasks shallconform to the marking requirements of 1.1.1.Additionally, thea

Design4.1 Flasks shall be designed in accordance with Specifica-tions E438 and E694. Flask necks may be designed with
18、eithertaper-ground joints to accept stopper sizes specified in Table 1or they may have reinforced rims or screw threads foracceptance of cap style closures. The neck may be eitherstraight sided or provided with a mixing bulb located above thegraduation line (intermediate bulb style). Any cross secti

The bottom or base shall be such that the volumetricflask will stand solidly on a level surface. The ar

The 10-mL flask shall stand on an inclined plane of10 to the horizontal.4.2 Intermediate Bulb Style Flasks
21、The bulb in the neck ofan Intermediate Bulb-style flask shall hold approximately 10 %of the nominal capacity for sizes up to 1000 mL, inclusive, and5 % of the nominal capacity for the 2000-mL size.4.3 StoppersWhere stoppers are provided they may beeither glass or plastic, as desired by the user. If of stain or enamel, the line shall extend aminimum of 90 % of the neck circumference.4.5.2 Identificat
