、Designation: E 1272 02Standard Specification for Laboratory GlassGraduated Cylinders1This standard is issued under the fixed designation E 1272; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of last revision. A number in
、 parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This specification covers requirements for glass gradu-ated cylinders for precision and general purpose grades suitablefor laboratory purposes.
、1.1.1 Class AEach cylinder of precision grade shall bemarked with the letter “A to signify compliance with appli-cable construction and accuracy requirements. Cylinders maybe marked with an identification number (serial number) at theoption of the manufacturer.1.1.2 Class BGeneral purpose cylinders
、are of the samebasic design as Class A cylinders. However, volumetric toler-ances for Class B cylinders shall be within twice the specifiedrange allowed for Class A cylinders. These cylinders need notbe marked with their class designation.1.1.3 Product with a stated capacity not listed in thisstanda
、rd may be specified in class A tolerance when productconforms to the tolerance range of the next smaller volumetricstandard product listed in Table 1.2.
