It is theobjective of standard measurement procedures that the prop-erty of a reference specimen being measured have the same

It describes indetail how the specimen is to be constructed and installed in atest opening.1.3 The values state

Construction of Reference Specimen4.1 General:4.1.1 The reference specimen is composed of framed steelpanels. The required materials for fabrication and installationare as follows:Galvaniz

Check weight for compliance with limits given in 4.2.1.Steel right angles with 25-mm (1-in.) flangesthickness, 3.2 mm (0.125 in.).Blind rivetsdiameter, 3 mm (0.125 in.).Duct tape, 50 mm (2 in.) wide.Drywall screws, Type

In addition, the thickness of each of the steelpanels shall be measured in six locations. (See Appe

The intent is that when installed, thepanels fill the test opening completely.4.2.2 FrameCut steel right angles to size to form a fram

Toassure proper alignment of the sheets with the frame, it isrecommended to drill a few holes and then install rivets to holdthe sheet in place. Once this is

Position these holes to avoidconflict with the clearance holes described in 4.2.3.2.4.2.3.2 Drill 4 mm (0.16 in.) diameter holes through hori-zontal members of the frame and sheet as shown in Figs. 2 and3. They may also becompared with theoretical values of transmission loss.6.3 Theoretical values of transmission loss may be calcu-lated using the equations for mass law:3TL 5 20log fm 2 47.7 (1)where:TL = transmission lo
