1、Designation: E 1638 07Standard TerminologyRelating to Sieves, Sieving Methods and Screening Media1This standard is issued under the fixed designation E 1638; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of last revision

2、 A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.INTRODUCTIONParticle size distribution analysis through the use of standard testing sieves has been a commonlyadopted method of verifying comp

As an adjunct to that function, greater emphasis is being placed on inter- and intralaboratorycorrelation of all particle measurement systems, testing sieves included. To ensure a better understanding of the comparison of testing re

4、sults from sieve analysis-basedparticle measurement systems, terminology common to the process must be documented and definedso that both the recipient and generator of the data are in full agreement as to the meaning of the data.Every effort has been made to ensure accuracy, precision, and clarity
