Scope1.1 This specification covers two types of lightweight elec-trical equipment shelters designed for transport on theM1152A1, M1152A1 with B2 Armo

15、cle unit of production with simulated missionpayload.3.6 Recycled, Recovered or Environmentally PreferableMaterialsRecycled, recovered, or environmentally prefer-able materials should be used to the maximum extent possibleprovided that the material meets or exceeds the operational andmaintenance req

16、uirements, and promotes economically advan-tageous life cycle costs.3.7 ToxicityMaterials used shall cause no skin irritationsor other injuries and produce no vapor hazards, including theemission of toxic or noxious odors, to personnel, in or aroundthe shelter, under all environmental conditions. Ex

17、posure ofpersonnel to toxic substances shall not be in excess of thethreshold values contained in theACGIH Threshold Limit Val-ues.3.8 Flame ResistanceThe shelter shall be designed to befire resistant in accordance with Specification E1925.4. Verification4.1 Classification of InspectionsAlternative

18、test methods,techniques, or equipment, such as the application of statisticalprocess control, the contractor may propose tool control or costeffective sampling procedures. Acceptable alternative verifica-tion approaches, including the use of sample testing, shall beE2377 104identified in the contrac

19、t. The inspection requirements speci-fied herein are classified as follows:4.1.1 First Article InspectionWhen a first article inspec-tion is required, it shall be applied to the first article submittedin accordance with 3.1. Specific verifications to be performedshall be defined by the contract (see

20、 6.2) and shall includeverifications contained in Table 6.4.1.2 Conformance InspectionWhen a conformance in-spection is required (see 6.2), specific inspections to beperformed shall be defined in the contract (see 6.2) and shallinclude any verification contained herein.4.2 Physical Performance Verif

21、ication:4.2.1 Weight and Payload:4.2.1.1 WeightCompliance with 3.2.1 shall be determinedby weighing the shelter, the mounting kit, and the pintleextension including their associated hardware. The scale usedshall have 1 lb (453.6 g) or less graduation and shall have anaccuracy of at least 61 lb (453.

22、6 g). The scale shall have acurrent calibration, traceable to the National Institute forStandards and Technology. Any item exceeding maximumweight listed in Table 1 shall be considered a failure.4.2.1.2 PayloadRacks, shelves, attaching hardware, andindividual weights shall be installed in the shelte

23、r to simulatea payload of 3300 lb (1496.9 kg) (see 3.2.1) The simulatedpayload shall be distributed throughout the shelter (see 6.2).This simulated payload shall be used for all verifications whichrequire a payload, and any failure of this payload (racks,shelves, or attaching hardware) attributable

24、to the shelterduring the course of the test shall constitute failure of the testbeing performed.4.2.2 Parts Interchangeability:4.2.2.1 Spare-partsCompliance with 3.2.2.1 shall be de-termined by selecting two shelters from the production lot ofcompleted shelters. The parts listed in Table 2 shall bei

25、nterchanged between the shelters. The interchange shall beaccomplished by removing the fasteners, interchanging theparts and reinstalling the fasteners. Inability to interchange theparts or loss of functionality in accordance with 3.2.2.1 shallconstitute failure of this test.4.2.2.2 Interface PartsC

26、ompliance with 3.2.2.2 shall bedetermined by selecting one of each of the parts listed in Table3 from the production lot of completed shelters. The inter-change shall be accomplished by removing the fasteners,interchanging the parts and reinstalling the fasteners with agovernment furnished shelter/v

27、ehicle combination. Inability tointerchange the parts in accordance with 3.2.2.2 shall constitutefailure of this test.4.2.3 Shelter ConfigurationThe shelter shall be inspectedto determine compliance with 3.2.3. Failure to meet therequirements of 3.2.3 shall constitute failure of this test.4.2.3.1 Sh

28、elter Flatness and SquarenessThe followingflatness and squareness tests shall be performed to determinecompliance with the requirements with 3.2.3.1. Failure to meetthe requirements of 3.2.3.1 shall constitute failure of this test.(1) FlatnessThe flatness of the shelter panels shall bedetermined usi

29、ng a straight edge, that is at least 48 in. (120 cm)long, which is flat within 0.005 in. (0.13 mm) total. Two18-in.(3.2 mm) shims shall be placed under the straight edge, one ateach end. A series of measurements shall be taken along thelength of the straight edge, in both the horizontal and vertical

30、directions, across the shelters interior/exterior surfaces toidentify the largest cup or bow.(2) SquarenessThe shelter shall be tested in accordancewith Specification E1925. For the purpose of this test, anyhorizontal surface shall be considered a roof/floor and anyvertical surface shall be consider

31、ed a wall. In those regionswhere a 36 in. (90 cm) square is impractical, a square of theappropriate size shall be used and the allowed gap shall beproportional.4.2.3.2 Shelter DimensionsEach non-reference dimensionspecified on the interface drawing 17-2-0035 shall be mea-sured. Failure to meet the r

In addition, the shel

38、ter will beintegrated with one or more of the systems listed in Table 4(see 4.1). After the successful integration of the shelter,threaded fasteners shall be tested. Test fixtures shall befashioned to evaluate the shelters ability to securely holdthreaded fasteners (10-32 through 1/2-20 bolts). The

39、testfixtures shall be fashioned to induce only a twisting load to theshelter attachment point for the torque test and, primarily, onlyan axial tensile load through the centerline of the shelterattachment point for the pull-out test. Reaction forces appliedby the pull-out test fixture onto the shelte

40、r surface shall beoutside a 3 in. (7.6 cm) radius measured from the center line ofthe fastener being tested. Failure to meet the requirements of3.2.3.3 shall constitute failure of this test.(1) TorqueTo determine compliance, a torque load equalto 8 ft-lb (1.11 kg-m) for the 10-32 bolt and 10 ft-lb (

41、1.38kg-m), for the other bolts shall be applied to all fastenersinstalled in the shelter, fasteners used to integrate the system(see 4.2.3.3) should be used wherever possible. Failure to meetthe torque requirements of 3.2.3.3 shall constitute failure ofthis test.(2) Pull-outTo determine compliance,

42、a tensile loadequal to 800 lb (362.9 kg) for the 10-32 bolt and 1 000 lb(453.6 kg) for the other bolts shall be applied to all fastenersinstalled in the shelter, fasteners used to integrate the system(see 4.2.3.3) should be used wherever possible. Failure of meetthe pull-out requirements of 3.2.3.3

43、shall constitute failure ofthis test.4.2.4 Chemical and Biological (CB) ResistanceTo deter-mine compliance with the requirements of 3.2.4, it shall beverified that the shelter is finished in accordance with MIL-C-53072.4.2.5 PressurizationAir shall be supplied to the shelter, inoperational configura

44、tion, with all appropriate openings closed,and an internal pressure of 1.2-in. water gauge shall beobtained and maintained. The air pressure and air flow shall bestabilized. Any additional air supplied to maintain specifiedinternal pressure shall be recorded to determine compliancewith 3.2.5. Failur

45、e to meet the requirements of 3.2.5 shallconstitute failure of this test.4.2.6 Roof LoadsThe shelter roof shall be subjected to auniform load of 40 pounds per square foot (lb/ft2) (0.0195kg/cm2) over the entire surface. After removal of the uniformload, a 660-lb (299.4 kg) load over a 1- by 2-ft (30

46、- by 61-cm)area at the weakest area of the roof shall be applied. Each testshall be for a duration of 5 min. Failure to meet the require-ments of 3.2.6 both during the test and subsequent removal ofthe load shall constitute failure of this test.4.2.7 Floor LoadsThe shelters floor shall be uniformlyl

47、oaded to 65 lb/ft2(0.0317 kg/cm2) for 30 min. Prior to removalof the uniform load, all moveable parts shall be operated toensure no interference exists between components. Aftercompletion of the above test, the uniform load shall beremoved and a concentrated 1 000 lb load shall be applied overa 1- b

48、y 2-ft (30- by 61-cm) area centered on the floor and leftin position for 30 min. The 2-ft (61-cm) dimension shall beparallel to the shelters sidewall. Prior to removal of theconcentrated load, all movable parts shall be operated to ensureno interference exists between components. After completingbot

49、h of the above tests, the concentrated load shall be removedand a load of 125 lb (56.7 kg), balanced ona1in.2(6.45 cm2)block, shall be applied for 5 min to the center of the floor.Failure to meet the requirements of 3.2.7 shall constitute failureof this test.4.2.8 Door:4.2.8.1 Door HandleThe shelter door shall be securelyclosed.A48 lb (22 kg) load shall be applied to the door handlein the direction which best facilitates opening the door.After ithas been verified that 48 lb is adequate to open the door, thedoor shall be closed and a 48 lb (21.8 kg)
