Scope1.1 This specification provides requirements for demon-strating that a buildings location is in sufficient pro

3、ximity to arange of establishments, services, and other amenities (referredto as “neighborhood assets” in this specification) such that thelikelihood is increased that the buildings occupants will walkto their destinations when conducting errands or other typicalactivities.1.2 This specification add

4、resses a single indicator regardingthe environmental performance related to a buildings location.It provides one option for evaluating whether a building islocated in such a way as to minimize the impacts associatedwith occupants travel.NOTE 1The indicator in and of itself is insufficient to imply a

5、ny levelof “sustainability” for the building or the neighborhood. Similarly, abuildings failure to meet this specification does not necessarily signify alack of sustainability. Other indicators may be more appropriate for thatbuilding or region; those indicators are outside the scope of this specifi

Significance and Use4.1 This specification provides requirements for demon-strating that a buildings location provid

10、es a minimal level ofaccess to a variety of establishments such that occupants havean opportunity to use walking as a means of transportation toconduct errands and typical activities.4.2 Shorter travel distances to neighborhood assets providebuilding occupants with increased opportunity to walk toco

11、mmon destinations, and the corollary opportunity to reducevehicle miles traveled and the associated pollution, trafficcongestion, and household transportation costs.4.3 The users of this specification include developers,planners, building owners, engineers, architects, landscapearchitects and other

Requirements5.1 Classification and Categorization of Neighborhood As-sets:5.1.1 Neighborhood assets are classified by their 2012NorthAmerica

16、1.2 Neighborhood asset codes are grouped into four cat-egories: civic and community facilities, community-servingretail, food retail, and services. Table 1 shows the category foreach NAICS code. (See Table 2 for grouping by category.)5.2 Eligibility of Neighborhood AssetsFor the purposes ofthis spec

17、ification, a neighborhood asset shall:5.2.1 Have a NAICS code listed in Table 1 or be a publicpark, and5.2.2 Be in business or otherwise open to the public at thetime of the site plan review.5.3 Proximity to a Diversity of Neighborhood AssetsAprimary building entrance shall be within -mile (800-m)wa

18、lking distance, as measured over a continuous network ofall-weather surfaced walkways and dedicated public rights-of-way, of a primary entrance of either:5.3.1 A minimum of six eligible neighborhood assets, or5.3.2 A minimum of four eligible neighborhood assets,including at least one with NAICS Code

19、 445110 (GroceryStoresSupermarket and Other Grocery except Convenience).5.3.3 The eligible neighborhood assets shall fall under nofewer than three of the four neighborhood asset categories.5.3.4 No neighborhood asset shall be counted twice towardsmeeting the required criteria of 5.3, even if it fall
