Terminology3.1 Definitions:3.1.1 flint glass culleta particulate glass material thatcontains no more than 0.1 weight % Fe2O3, or 0

Representative Sample4.1 The following requirements qualify the glass lot to beused for direct use in soda-lime glass container manufacturing.Sample

General Requirements5.1 The sample shall show no drainage of liquid and benoncaking and free flowing.Amoisture content of less than 0.5weight % is required to meet the free-flowing characteristics ofa cullet that is

8、 predominantly of smaller particle size, 1.18-mm(No 16) sieve or smaller.5.2 Screen SizeNo material shall be retained on a 6-mm(14-in.) screen. Material not exceeding 15 weight % shall passthrough a 106-m (No. 140) screen.5.3 Organic MaterialsThe total content of organic mate-rials, as measured in a

9、ccordance with Section 6 shall notexceed 0.2 weight % of dry sample, except for color-mixedglass where the content of organic material may exceed 0.2weight %. However, a content of organic material greater than0.2 weight % must be held within a tolerance of 60.05weight %, with a maximum organic limi

10、t of 0.4 weight %.5.4 Magnetic MaterialsThe total magnetic materials shallnot exceed 0.05 weight % of dry sample weight for flint glassand 0.14 weight % for colored glass of dry sample weight inaccordance with Section 6.5.5 Permissible Color Mix for Color Sorted Glass Cullet byWeight:5.5.1 Amber Gla

These limits areconsistent with industry experience on raw material.5.5.3.2 Flint glass cullet may contain up to

15、1 weight %emerald green or 10 weight % Georgia green, or a combinationwithin the limits: 1 % Georgia green = 0.1 % emerald green.5.6 Other Inorganic Material (such as nonmagnetic metalsor refractories)As measured, material larger than 850-m(No. 20) screen size shall not exceed 0.1 % of the dry sampl

Material smaller than 850-m screen size shall notexceed 0.5 % of the dry sample weight.5.6.1 RefractoriesBased upon U.S. series screen size andsample weight, the following refractory particle limits shallapply for each screen fraction as stated below.+20 mesh 1 particle per 18-kg (40-lb) sa
