(approximately 150 mm)longType IVJumbo pipet 534 in. (approximately 150 mm) long5. Workmanship, Finish, and Appearanc
7、e5.1 The pipets shall be free of obstructions, visible defects,irregularities, striae, bubbles, and other defects that detractfrom appearance and impair their serviceability.5.2 The pipets shall be visibly clean and ready for use; freeof grease, dirt, grit, oil, or oily type substances readiblydetec
8、table to the naked eye under normal room lighting.5.3 Pipets shall be straight and concentric to the extent thatwhen rolled on a plane surface the tip of the pipet shall nottouch the surface.5.4 Pipets shall be of sufficient strength and uniformity ofwall thickness to withstand normal usage and tran
9、sporation.6. Requirements6.1 MaterialThe pipets shall be made of good quality,clear glass conforming to the requirements of Type I, Class Aor B (borosilicate), or Type II (soda lime), of SpecificationE438.6.2 Design and DimensionsThe pipets shall be of aone-piece glass construction and meet the dime
10、nsions andtolerance outlined in Table 1. The pipets may be fabricatedwith a constriction to allow for cotton-plugging, which shall beconsidered an optional feature at the discretion of the manu-facturer. The top of the pipet shall be fire-polished, free ofsharp edges, and be finished approximately 9
11、0 deg to the axisof the pipet. The tip of the pipet shall be cut approximately 90to the axis and shall not be cracked or have jagged ends orchips that enter the bore of the pipet.NOTE 1A manufacturer may at his option make claims of drops percubic centimetre on Type III, the large-tip pipet.7.
