Classification3.1 Types and CapacitiesThe crucibles shall be furnishedin one or more of the following types or capacities as specified(see S2.

5、1).3.1.1 Type INickel.Capacity: 100 mL250 mL3.1.2 Type IIPlatinum.Capacity: 20 mL4. Materials4.1 Type ICrucibles and covers shall be made from99.4 % nickel, spun and hardened in conformance with Speci-fication B 162.4.2 Type IICrucibles and covers shall be made from99.9 % platinum plus iridium, with

6、 the iridium content of notmore than 0.4 %.5. Physical Requirements5.1 Crucibles shall have a standard shape with a flat base togive a firm and stable resting surface. The side wall shall forma sloping and convex surface extending up to the brim.Crucibles shall be of one-piece construction.5.2 Cover

7、s shall be flat, sunken in the center, and shall havean extension to serve as a handle. The sunken area in the centershall fit inside the crucible.6. Dimensions, Mass, and Permissible Variations6.1 Type I crucibles and covers shall conform to the re-quirements of Table 1.6.2 Type II Crucibles and Co

8、vers:6.2.1 Type II crucibles shall conform to the requirements ofTable 2.6.2.2 Type II covers shall conform to the requirements ofTable 3.7. Workmanship7.1 Crucibles and covers shall be free of defects (scratches,dents, discolorations) or contamination (grease, oil, foreignmatter) that detract from

SamplingS1.1 Sampling for nondestructive examination shall

13、beconducted in accordance with MIL-STD-105.S2. Ordering InformationS2.1 Procurement documents should specify the following:S2.1.1 Title, number, and date of this ASTM specification.S2.1.2 Level of packaging and packing required,S2.1.3 Type and capacity of crucible required, andS2.1.4 Number of unit

14、packages per intermediate packagesrequired.S2.2 Suppliers ResponsibilityThe supplier is responsiblefor the performance of all inspection requirements as specifiedherein. Except as otherwise specified, the supplier may use hisown or any other inspection facilities and services acceptableto the Govern

15、ment. Inspection records of the examination andtests shall be kept complete and available to the Government asspecified in the contract or order. The Government reserves theright to perform any of the inspections set forth in thespecification where such inspections are deemed necessary toensure that

16、 supplies and services conform to prescribed re-quirements.S2.3 Transportation DescriptionTransportation descrip-tion applicable to this item is:S2.3.1 Type INickel:S2.3.1.1 Crucibles, not otherwise indexed by name. Car-load minimum weight 24 000 lb. Subject to Rule 34, UniformFreight Classification

Lotting and SamplingS3.1 A lot shall consist of the crucibles and covers of thesame type and capacity offered for acceptance at one time,which

18、 has been produced by one manufacturer under essen-tially the same manufacturing conditions.S3.2 Sampling shall be conducted in accordance with Sec-tion S1.1S4. InspectionS4.1 Special Provisions:S4.1.1 Alternative Inspection (Including Testing)ProceduresThe supplier may use any alternative inspectio

19、nprocedures that will ensure equal or better quality by submit-ting a written proposal with justification and obtaining writtenapproval from the Government prior to instituting the proce-dure. In case of dispute, the procedures of this specificationwill govern.S4.2 Supplemental EvidenceThe supplier
