Definitions of Terms Specific to This Standard3.1 entrainment separatora mechanical device inserted ina pipeline which by centrifugal force, baffles, or other meanswill separate a liquid from a gas (vapor).3.2 hydrostatic testthe act of filling an entrainment sepa-rator

Materials and Manufacture4.1 The pressure-temperature ratings established under thisspecification are based upon the manufacturers usage of highquality materials produced under regular control of chemicaland physical properties by a recognized process. The manu-facturer shall be

17、ysicalproperties at least equal to the requirements of the appropriatestandard or specification listed in 4.3 of this specification orSection II of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.4.2 For materials not having values of allowable stresstabulated in Section VIII Division I of the ASME Boiler
18、andPressure Vessel Code, allowable stresses shall be determined inaccordance with the procedures outlined in Appendix P ofSection VIII, Division 1 of the ASME Boiler and PressureVessel Code.4.3 Materials of construction shall be suitable for the serviceintended.4.4 Bolting materials shall be at leas
19、t equal to those listed inTable 1B of ANSI B16.5. Bolting materials shall not be usedbeyond temperature limits specified in the governing codes.5. Requirements Requirements5.1 Entrainment separators covered in this specificationshall be designed according to the lowest pressure-temperaturerating of
20、any individual component, or as established by prooftests.5.2 The design pressure-temperature of entrainment separa-tors covered in this specification will be established by themanufacturer using one of the following methods:5.2.1 Design calculations in accordance with the require-ments prescribed i
21、n the ASME Boiler and Pressure VesselCode, Section VIII, Division 1, Part UG of Subsection A andthe applicable part of Subsection C.5.2.2 Proof test in accordance with the requirements of UG101 (m), UCI-101, or UCD-101 of Section VIII, Division 1 ofthe ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.5.2.3 Wher
22、e any part of the entrainment separator vesselcannot be designed within the scope of the ASME Boiler andPressure Vessel Code, Section VIII, Division 1, Design Sec-tion, the pressure-temperature rating must be determinedthrough proof and hydrostatic tests using the following formu-las to determine th
23、e allowable operating limits of pressure andtemperature. 25、ssure Vessel Code.5.2.3.2 The value of PHTto be used in determining themaximum allowable working pressure shall be the maximumpressure to which the entrainment separator was subjected towithout permanent deformation or rupture.5.2.3.3 Test water temperature6and entrainment separatortemperature must
26、be at equilibrium before hydrostatic testpressure is applied.5.2.3.4 All possible air pockets must be purged while theentrainment separator vessel is being filled with water. Ad-equate vents shall be provided at all high points of the vessel.5.2.3.5 External equipment not to be pressurized with thee
27、ntrainment separator should be isolated or disconnectedbefore applying the hydrostatic test pressure.5.2.3.6 Hydrostatic test pressure shall be applied graduallyto the entrainment separator and held stationary at eachincrement for a sufficient time in order that a visual inspectioncan be made for le
28、aks or deformation of the vessel. The finalvalue of hydrostatic test pressure that is not in conflict with5.2.3.2 is called PHT.5.3 Pressure-temperature rating and construction of all pipeconnections shall be in accordance with the following stan-dards or specifications: ANSI B2.1, ANSI B16.1, ANSI
29、B16.3,ANSI B16.4, ANSI B16.5, ANSI B16.11, ANSI B16.15, ANSIB16.24, ANSI B16.25, ASME SA-278, ANSI B16.31, MSSSP-51, and MIL-F-1183.6. Test Methods6.1 All entrainment separators must be pressure tested inaccordance with the following:6.1.1 Each entrainment separator shall be tested by subject-ing it
30、 to an internal hydrostatic test procedure, which at everypoint in the separator is at least equal to 1.5 times themaximum allowable working pressure, multiplied by the low-est ratio of the stress value for the design temperature.Test pressure 5 1.5 3 maximum allowable pressure3stress value at test
31、temperaturestress value at design temperature6.1.1.1 The hydrostatic test pressure shall be held stationaryfor a suitable time necessary for observation and inspection ofthe separator. The minimum time of test shall be no less than1 min.6.1.1.2 A test gage, as defined in this specification (seeSecti
32、on 3) shall be connected directly to the entrainmentseparator.6.1.1.3 For compliance withASME Codes leading toASMEcertification, proceed with steps as outlined in Section VIII,Division 1 of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code forStandard Hydrostatic Tests.7. Packaging and Package Marking7.1 Eac
33、h entrainment separator shall have a securely at-tached nameplate or other permanent marking indicating thefollowing:7.1.1 Manufacturers name and trademark,7.1.2 Pressure-temperature rating,7.1.3 Manufacturers serial number,6Test water temperature to be no less than 60F (10C), but not to exceed 125F
