、Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.16. Weave6.1 The wire shall be woven throughout in the form ofapproximately uniform square mesh, having parallel sides andhorizontal and vertical diagonals of approximately uniformdimensions. The top and bottom of the fabric shall be knuckledor twisted as
、specified in Section 10.6.2 A typical diamond count for each standard height isshown in Table 1. Other diamond counts are permissibleprovided that they are consistent within a lot. The purchaserhas the option to specify the diamond count (4.1.5).7. Size of Mesh7.1 The size of mesh shall be as indica
、ted in Table 2.7.2 The permissible variation from the specified size ofmesh shall be 618 in. (3.175 mm) for all mesh sizes except 1in. (25.4 mm), and 6116 in. (1.5875 mm) for 1-in. (25.4 mm)mesh size.7.3 The size of mesh shall be determined by measuring theminimum clear distance between the wires fo
、rming the parallelsides of the mesh, and calculated as the average of tworeadings taken at right angles to each other.8. Size of Wire8.1 Chain link fabric shall be fabricated from wire diametersas listed in Table 2, with a permissible variation from thespecified diameter of 60.005 in. (0.127 mm).9.
、Height of Fabric9.1 Chain link fabric shall be furnished in the standardheights shown in Table 2. The height of fabric shall be theoverall dimension from ends of twists or knuckles. Permissiblevariation from the specified height shall be 61 in. (25.4 mm)for 134 in. (44.45 mm) and 2 in. (50.8 mm) mes
、h and 612 in.(12.7 mm) for 1 in. (25.4 mm) mesh.10. Selvage10.1 Unless otherwise specified by the purchaser, fabricswith 2 in. (50.8 mm) mesh used in heights 60 in. (1524 mm)and under shall be knuckled at both selvages. Fabric of heights72 in. (1830 mm) and above shall be knuckled at one selvageand
、twisted at the other.10.2 The selvages of all fabrics with meshes of less than 2in. shall be knuckled.NOTE 2Use of twisted selvages for fence fabric under 72 in. (1830mm) in height are not recommended because of consumer safety consid-erations.11. Breaking Strength11.1 The wire constituting the fabr
、ic shall meet the mini-mum breaking strength requirements shown in Table 3.12. Finish12.1 Unless otherwise specified, the fabric shall have a millfinish. The purchaser may specify a caustic-cleaned, or etchedfinish, derived by chemical removal of the wire drawing andweaving lubricants after the fabr
、ic is woven.13. Standard Length of Rolls13.1 The standard length of roll shall be 50 ft (15.24 m)61 %, except as otherwise agreed upon at the time ofpurchase.13.2 The length of roll shall be determined by unrolling aroll of fabric onto a flat surface and then exerting tension byappropriate means to
、remove all slack. The tension appliedshall not reduce the actual height of the fabric by more than116 in. ft (1.5875 mm/m) of height or by more than12 in. (12.7mm) total, whichever is less.14. Sampling and Number of Tests14.1 One roll of every 50 rolls, or fraction thereof, in a lotshall be taken at
、 random as a sample for test purposes. In nocase shall less than two samples be tested, except when the lotis less than 10 rolls, when only one roll shall be selected for thesample.14.2 Sample rolls selected shall be inspected for uniformityof weave (6.1), diamond count (6.2), size of mesh (Section
、7),size of wire (Section 8), height of fabric (Section 9), selvage(Section 10), tensile strength (Section 11), and length (Section13).TABLE 1 Typical Diamond CountA,BDiameter ofWire, in.Size ofMesh, in.Height of Fabric, in.36 42 48 60 72 84 96 108 120 1440.192 2 1012 1212 1312 1712 2012 2412 2712 31
