Significance and Use3.1 This test method measures

5、 a physical property associ-ated with resilient floor tiles ability to conform to an unevensubfloor without breaking or cracking.4. Apparatus4.1 Deflection Frame, as shown in Fig. 1.4.2 Tensile Test Apparatus, capable of holding the deflectionframe and having a movement of at least 2.5 in. (64 mm) a

6、t arate of 4 in. (100 mm)/min at a load of 10 lb (4.54 kg).4.3 Measuring Device, for measuring the deflection of thespecimen at break or pull out from between the support bars toa tolerance of 0.05 in. (1.3 mm).4.4 Cutting Device, for cutting the samples to 2 by 9 in. (50by 229 mm).5. Sampling5.1 Fo

7、r sampling, refer to ANSI/ASQC Z1.4most recentversion.5.2 Specimens for test shall be 2 6132 by 9 6132 in. (506 0.8 by 229 6 0.8 mm).5.3 Six samples shall be taken from each test unit, three cutwith the long dimension in the machine direction, and threewith the long dimension across the machine dire

8、ction. Thesesamples are tested for deflection.6. Preparation of Apparatus6.1 Install the deflection frame in the tensile tester. Check tosee that the three bars are parallel, and that the center bar isaccurately centered between the two outside bars. Position theframe so that the test sample can be

9、placed with the wearingsurface touching the center bar, and the back surface touchingthe two outer bars, without deflection of the sample. This is thezero point for measuring deflection. Check that the deflectionspeed of the tester is 4 618 in./min. (102 6 3 mm/min.).Check the deflection measuring d

10、evice to see that it accuratelymeasures the relative movement between the center bar and theframe holding the two outer bars.NOTE 1If a pendulum-type weighing system is used on the testmachine, which has appreciable movement of the attached jaw, themechanism may be locked in place to make measuremen

11、t of the deflectioneasier, and to maintain the specified deflection rate, since measurement ofthe load is not required. Electronic load cell machines usually havenegligible movement.7. Conditioning7.1 After cutting the samples to size, condition the samplesat 73.4 6 1.8F (23 6 1C) and 50 6 5 % relat

12、ive humidity for3 h before testing.8. Procedure8.1 Insert a specimen in the frame as described in 6.1 withthe wearing surface against the center bar, and the back againstthe two outer bars. Start the machine and record the deflectionat the point where the sample breaks, or pulls free from theouter b

13、ars. Record the deflection to the nearest 0.05 in. 17、irection).10. Precision and Bias10.1 A round robin was conducted for Test Method F 1304.There were six participating laboratories, ten material samplesand three determinations made on each sample. The minimumrequirements per Practice E 691 are minimum six laboratories,four materials and two determin

18、ations.10.2 Precision Statement for Test Method: InchesDeflectionPrecision, characterized by repeatability, Sr, r, andreproducibility, SR, R, has been determined for the materials asshown in Table 1.10.2.1 RepeatabilityIn comparing two average values forthe same material obtained by the same operato

19、r using thesame equipment on the same day, the means should be judgednot equialent if they differ by more than the r value for thatmaterial and condition.10.2.2 ReproducibilityIn comparing two average valuesfor the same material obtained by different equipment ondifferent days, the means should be j

20、udged not equivalent ifthey differ by more than the R values for that material andcondition. (This applies between different laboratories orbetween different equipment within the same laboratory.10.2.3 These judgements will have an approximate 0.95 (95%) probability of being correct. Other materials

21、 may givesomewhat different results.
