Scope1.1 This specification covers coextruded composite pipe,produced by a coextrusion die system, in which the concentriclayers are f

3、ormed and combined before exiting the die.1.1.1 Materials listed in the material section are permitted tobe used in any layer of the coextruded composite pipe. Whencoextruded composite pipe is produced with three layers, themiddle layer is permitted to be solid or thermally foamed.1.1.2 The function

4、 of this specification is to provide stan-dardization of product, to produce technical data, and to serveas a purchasing guide.1.2 Compounds that do not meet the requirements of thematerial section are excluded.1.3 The coextruded composite pipe is permitted to beperforated in accordance with any spe

5、cified standard or byagreement between the purchaser and the supplier.1.4 The coextruded composite pipe is permitted to be belledfor joining by solvent cementing or belled for joining by anelastomeric seal (gaskets), in accordance with any specifiedstandard or by agreement between the purchaser and

6、thesupplier.1.5 Recommendations for storage, joining, installation, andrationale are listed in Appendixes X1, X2, X3, and X4,respectively.1.6 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas the standard. Classification4.1 Coextruded composite pipe produced in compliancewith this specification in different dimension ratios (DR) andpipe st

37、iffness (PS) is used for different applications.4.1.1 IPS Schedule 40 SeriesCoextruded composite pipeis used for above or below ground installation for communi-cation conduit, electrical conduit, drain, waste, and vent pipe,and plastic underdrain systems for highway, airport, andsimilar drainage, wh

38、ere a Schedule 40 IPS is required.4.1.2 IPS-DR-PS SeriesCoextruded composite pipe isused for above or below ground installation for communicationconduit, electrical conduit, and drain, waste, and vent pipe.4.1.3 Sewer and Drain DR-PS SeriesCoextruded com-posite pipe is used for gravity flow sewer an

39、d drain pipe, andplastic underdrain systems for highway, airport, and similardrainage.4.2 Before installing coextruded composite pipe in an in-dustrial waste disposal system, the approval of the cognizantbuilding code authority is required. Some coextruded compos-ite pipe is designed for temperature

40、 use in excess of 180F(82C). Consult the manufacturer for recommendations on use.5. Ordering Information5.1 Orders for coextruded composite pipe produced incompliance with this specification shall include the following:5.2 ASTM designation (F 1488) and year of issue,5.3 Series size,5.4 Footage of ea

41、ch size, and5.5 Materials.6. Material6.1 Basic MaterialsThe outer layer shall be made ofvirgin material that contains pigments or screening agents toprovide protection against UV radiation. The material shallconform to the requirements prescribed in the material speci-fication.6.2 ABS Material Speci

42、ficationThe ABS shall be virginplastic ABS material conforming to the requirements of Speci-fication D 3965 and shall meet all of the requirements for CellClass 4-2-2-2-2.6.2.1 The color and form of the material shall be byagreement between the purchaser and the supplier.6.3 PVC Material Specificati

43、onThe PVC shall be virginplastic material conforming to the requirements of Specifica-tion D 4396 and shall meet all of the requirements for CellClass 1-1-4-3-2.6.3.1 The color and form of the material shall be byagreement between the purchaser and the supplier in accor-dance with Specification D 43

44、96.6.3.2 Individual cell class values are permitted to be greaterthan those listed.6.4 CPVC Material SpecificationThe CPVC shall bevirgin plastic material conforming to the requirements ofSpecification D 4396 and shall meet all of the requirements forCell Class 2-2-4-2-4.6.4.1 The color and form of

45、the material shall be byagreement between the purchaser and the supplier in accor-dance with Specification D 4396.6.4.2 Individual cell class values are permitted to be greaterthan those listed.6.5 Rework MaterialA blend of clean rework materialgenerated from the manufacturers own pipe production ma

46、ybe used by the same manufacturer, provided the pipe producedmeets all of the requirements of this specification.6.5.1 Rework material is excluded from standard definitionsof recycled materials in accordance with Guide D 5033.6.5.2 Rework material generated from composite pipe shallnot be used in th

47、e outer layer.6.5.3 Rework material generated from composite pipe witha thermally foamed layer shall not be used in the inner or outerlayer.7. Performance Requirements7.1 Pipe StiffnessThe minimum pipe stiffness at 5 %deflection when measured in accordance with Test MethodD 2412, shall equal or exce

48、ed the value in Table 1, Table 2,Table 3 or Table 4, as applicable. The rate of crosshead motionshall be 0.20 to 0.25 in./min. (5.1 to 6.3 mm/min). Threespecimens shall be tested. If all three meet this requirement, thesample meets this requirement. If one or two fail, additionaltesting shall be con

49、ducted in accordance with 7.1.1.
