Scope*1.1 This specification covers coextruded composite pipe,produced by a coextrus

3、ion die system, in which the concentriclayers are formed and combined before exiting the die.1.1.1 The function of this specification is to provide stan-dardization of product, to produce technical data, and to serveas a purchasing guide.1.2 Compounds that do not meet the requirements of thematerial

4、 section are excluded.1.3 The coextruded composite pipe is permitted to beperforated in accordance with any specified standard or byagreement between the purchaser and the supplier.1.4 The coextruded composite pipe is permitted to be belledfor joining by solvent cementing or belled for joining by an

Classification4.1 Coextruded comp

38、osite pipe produced in compliancewith this specification in different dimension ratios (DR) andpipe stiffness (PS) is used for different applications.4.1.1 IPS Schedule 40 SeriesCoextruded composite pipeis used for above or below ground installation for communi-cation conduit, electrical conduit, dr

39、ain, waste, and vent pipe,and plastic underdrain systems for highway, airport, andsimilar drainage, where a Schedule 40 IPS is required.4.1.2 IPS-DR-PS SeriesCoextruded composite pipe isused for above or below ground installation for communicationconduit, electrical conduit, and drain, waste, and ve

40、nt pipe.4.1.3 Sewer and Drain DR-PS SeriesCoextruded compos-ite pipe is used for gravity flow sewer and drain pipe, andplastic underdrain systems for highway, airport, and similardrainage.4.2 Before installing coextruded composite pipe in an in-dustrial waste disposal system, the approval of the cog

41、nizantbuilding code authority is required. Some coextruded compos-ite pipe is designed for temperature use in excess of 180F(82C). Consult the manufacturer for recommendations on use.5. Ordering Information5.1 Orders for coextruded composite pipe produced incompliance with this specification shall i

42、nclude the following:5.2 ASTM designation (F1488) and year of issue,5.3 Series size,5.4 Footage of each size, and5.5 Materials.6. Material6.1 Basic MaterialsThe outer layer shall be made ofvirgin material that contains pigments or screening agents toprovide protection against UV radiation. The mater

43、ial shallconform to the requirements prescribed in the material speci-fication.6.1.1 Materials listed in the material section are to be usedin any layer of the coextruded composite pipe. When coex-truded composite pipe is produced with three layers, the middlelayer is to be solid or closed-cell cell

44、ular plastic.6.2 ABS Material SpecificationThe ABS shall be virginplastic ABS material conforming to the requirements of Speci-fication D3965 and shall meet all of the requirements for CellClass 4-2-2-2-2.6.2.1 The color and form of the material shall be byagreement between the purchaser and the sup

45、plier.6.3 PVC Material SpecificationThe PVC shall be virginplastic material conforming to the requirements of Specifica-tion D4396 and shall meet all of the requirements for CellClass 1-1-4-3-2.6.3.1 The color and form of the material shall be byagreement between the purchaser and the supplier in ac

46、cor-dance with Specification D4396.6.3.2 Individual cell class values are permitted to be greaterthan those listed.6.4 CPVC Material SpecificationThe CPVC shall be vir-gin plastic material conforming to the requirements of Speci-fication D4396 and shall meet all of the requirements for CellClass 2-2

47、-4-2-4.6.4.1 The color and form of the material shall be byagreement between the purchaser and the supplier in accor-dance with Specification D4396.6.4.2 Individual cell class values are permitted to be greaterthan those listed.6.5 Rework MaterialA blend of clean rework materialgenerated from the ma

48、nufacturers own pipe production maybe used by the same manufacturer, provided the pipe producedmeets all of the requirements of this specification.6.5.1 Rework material is excluded from standard definitionsof recycled materials in accordance with Guide D5033.6.5.2 Rework material generated from comp

49、osite pipe shallnot be used in the outer layer.6.5.3 Rework material generated from composite pipe witha closed-cell cellular plastic layer shall not be used in the inneror outer layer.7. Performance Requirements7.1 Pipe StiffnessThe minimum pipe stiffness at 5 %deflection when measured in accordance with Test MethodD2412, shall equal or exceed the value in Table 1, Table 2,Table 3 or Table 4, as applicable. The rate of crosshead motionshall be 0.20 to 0.25 in./min. (5.1 to 6.3 mm/min). Threespecimens shall be tested. If all three meet this requi
