5、pes in nonpressuresewer and conduit rehabilitation, where the spirally woundliner pipe is expanded until it presses against the interiorsurface of the existing sewer or conduit, or, alternatively, wherethe spirally wound liner pipe is inserted as a fixed diameter intothe existing sewer or conduit an

Abbreviations are in accordancewith Terminology D 1600, unless otherwise indicated.3.2 Definitions of Terms Specific to This Standard:3.2.1 extruded PVC profile stripsa product, available invarious width

19、s, consisting of a smooth inside surface and aribbed outer surface with mechanically locked male and femaleedges which are self interlocking, or separate locking stripswhich serve the same purpose. Application of Materials4.1 Th

22、e profile strip designations specified in Table 1 maybe used for a range of existing sewer and conduit diameters.The selection of the profile designation to be used should bedetermined based on analysis of installation conditions.4.2 The steel reinforcing strips shall be used to reinforce theextrude

23、d PVC profile strip where required by the designconditions, such as for pipes under high soil, surcharge or liveloads throughout the design life. The steel reinforcing stripsshall be used to maintain the profile position during grouting ofnon-circular pipes.5. Materials and Manufacture5.1 PVC Materi

24、alsThe extruded profile strip shall bemade from PVC compound meeting all the minimum require-ments for Cell Classifications 12344 or 13454 or higher, asdefined in Specification D 1784.5.2 Steel MaterialsThe steel reinforcing strip shall bemade of zinc-galvanized coated steel or stainless steel asdef

25、ined in Specifications A 879/A 879M, A 167, A 176,A 924/A 924M or A 653/A 653M.5.3 Rework MaterialClean rework material generatedfrom the manufacturers own extruded PVC strip productionmay be used by the same manufacturer provided extrudedprofile strip produced meets all the requirements of thisspec

Other Requirements6.1 Stiffness FactorStiffness factor values for the ex-truded profile strip shall comply with Table 1 when tested inaccordance with 11.3.6.2 Acetone ImmersionThe profile strip shall not flake ordisintegrate when tested in accordance with 11.4.NOTE 1This is intended onl

27、y for use as a quality control test and notfor use as a simulated service test.7. Dimensions and Permissible Variation7.1 Width of Profile StripThe width of the profile stripshall meet the requirements given in Table 1 when measured inaccordance with 11.2.1.7.2 Height of Profile StripThe height of t

28、he profile stripshall meet the requirements given in Table 1 when measured inaccordance with 11.2.2.7.3 Waterway Wall ThicknessThe waterway wall thick-ness of the profile strip shall meet the requirements given inTable 1 when measured in accordance with 11.2.3.8. Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance8

29、.1 The extruded profile strip shall be homogeneousthroughout and free from visible cracks, holes, foreign inclu-sions, or other injurious defects. The extruded profile strip shallbe as uniform as commercially practical in color, opacity,density, and other physical properties.9. Significance and Use9

30、.1 The requirements of this specification are intended toprovide extruded PVC profile strip suitable for the fieldfabrication of spirally wound liner pipe for the rehabilitation ofexisting pipelines and conduits conveying sewage, processflow, and storm water under gravity flow conditions.NOTE 2Indus

40、accordance with the applicable sections of TestMethod D 2122 for determining wall thickness. Measurementsshall be made from the smooth surface to the outer surface ofthe ribs.11.2.3 Wall ThicknessMeasure the wall thickness of thethinnest cross section of the waterway in the gaps between ribsin accor

41、dance with Test Method D 2122.11.3 Stiffness FactorA flat (no curvature) specimen notless than 12 in. (300 mm) long, including an assembled joint,shall be prepared from each production run. Using the speci-men oriented as shown in Fig. 6, the stiffness factor shall bedetermined in accordance with Te

42、st Methods D 790, TangentModulus of Elasticity, Test Method 1, where the equation for EB is replaced by EI = L3m/48 b. Test Method 1 and ProcedureB of Test Methods D 790 shall be used in this test. Thecalculated stiffness factor shall equal or exceed the minimumvalue listed in Table 1 for the profil

43、e type tested.NOTE 3The stiffness factors determined by test should not be used tocalculate pipe stiffness.11.4 Acetone ImmersionTests shall be run in accordancewith Test Method D 2152 on profile strip samples. Thisprocedure is used for determining the extrusion quality ofextruded PVC profile strip

44、as indicated by reaction to immer-sion in anhydrous acetone. It is applicable only for distinguish-ing between unfused and properly fused PVC.11.5 Joint TightnessEach profile type in Table 1 shall betested for joint tightness.11.5.1 Fabricate a length of spiral-wound liner pipe, eitherexpanded or fi

45、xed diameter, with a minimum length of sixtimes the outside diameter. Assemble this length of liner pipeas shown in Fig. 7. The opening may be sealed using end capsor mechanical sealing devices.11.5.2 Perform the pressure and vacuum tests as describedin 11.5.5 and 11.5.6 on the liner pipe in straigh

46、t alignment.11.5.3 Suitably restraining the pipe deflect it to form aminimum angle of 10 at a bend radius specified by themanufacturer as shown in Fig. 8. Hold this position andperform pressure and vacuum tests as described in 11.5.5 and11.5.6.NOTE 4As an example some profile liner pipe manufacturer

47、s recom-mend a bend radius equal to 150 times the pipe outside diameter.11.5.4 Restrain the liner pipe at both ends as shown in Fig.8 Fig. 9 and apply a load at the middle of the liner pipe untilthe point of load application has moved downward 5 % of theliner pipes outside diameter. Hold this positi

48、on and performpressure and vacuum tests as described in 11.5.5 and 11.5.6.11.5.5 Internal Pressure TestFill the liner pipe assemblywith water. Apply a pressure of 10.8 psi (74 kPa) (gage) (25-ft.head) for 10 min. Visible leaks in the joint constitute failure.11.5.6 Vacuum TestFill the liner pipe ass

49、embly with aironly. Apply a vacuum of 22 in. Hg (74 kPa). Close the valveand remove the vacuum line. Allow the assembly to stand for10 min to check for leaks before testing. The internal pressureshall not change more than 1 in. Hg (3 kPa). Perform the testrequired, noting the internal pressure after the test condition isattained and again 10 min later. The internal pressure shall notchange more than 5 in. Hg (17 kPa) during this second 10-minperiod. Some profile types (see Table 1) may not have thecapability of withstanding the 22-in. Hg (74-kPa) v
