Scope1.1 This specification covers the requirements, sizes,construction, tests, and procedures for unused ropes for use byelect
3、rical utilities and related industries on energized linesoperating at voltages higher than 1 kV.1.2 This specification covers the minimum electrical,mechanical, and physical properties guaranteed by the manu-facturer and the detailed procedures by which such propertiesare to be determined. The purch
4、aser has the option to performor have performed any of these tests in order to verify theguarantee. Claims for failure to meet the specification aresubject to verification by the manufacturer.1.3 The rope to which this specification applies is designedto be used in a clean and dry condition, on or n

Terminology3.1 GeneralThe terms used in this specification are com-mon to and well known by the industries that will

Reliable means of deenergizing and groundingthe high-voltage circuit shall be provided.11.3 Electrical Test Procedure Dry TestThis is a dryspecimen test to be used on new rope prior to wet test.11.3.1 Specimen for TestWhen selected in accordancewith Section 8, the test specimen shall be
15、 at least 1.8 m (6 ft)long so that when the rope is held in a vertical position, therewill be 1.0 m (3 ft) of rope free from knots, eyes, or splices (seeFig. 1).11.3.2 Handling of SpecimenWhen the rope is handled, itshall always be outside the test footage (see Fig. 1).11.3.3 Electrodes:11.3.3.1 The
16、 electrodes shall be designed to shield out themajority of stray capacitive currents.11.3.3.2 The electrodes and configuration shall be the sameas those in Fig. 2, or the alternate setup in Fig. 3, which aresimilar to those specified in Specification F711 for testing FRPFIG. 1 Test Footage for Elect

The electrodes shall bemounted in a suitable frame like Fig. 2 to allow the suspensionof the 305 mm (12 in.) 6 13 mm (12 in.) test section betweenthe electrodes. A 4.5 kg (1
18、0 lb) weight shall be attached to therope to maintain good electrical contact. (See Fig. 5 for clampand plate details of Fig. 2).11.3.4 Dry Test Leakage ReadingsThe 60 Hz voltage shallbe raised from 0 to 100 kV rms in not less than 5 nor more than15 s. The voltage shall be held at 100 kV rms for 5 m
19、in. If atthe end of 5 min the current is stable or dropping and has notexceeded 100 A at any time during the test, or flashed over,the specimen has passed the test. If at the end of 5 min thecurrent is rising and not stable but does not exceed 100 A, orflashover, the test shall continue for an addit
20、ional 25 min. If atthe end of that time the rope has not flashed over and thecurrent has stabilized at less than 100 A, the specimen haspassed.11.4 Electrical Test Procedure-Wet Test:11.4.1 Specimen for TestWhen selected in accordancewith Section 8, the test specimen shall be at least 1.8 m (6 ft)lo

Loss of hydro-phobic coating could reduce weight saturation and should beconsidered a failure.11.4.4.2 The entire r
25、ope specimen shall be subjected to99 % RH for not less than 16 h, (at room temperature 6 10F).Samples should be coiled into coils of 10 to 12 in. diameter andhung in place with non-conductive ties (see Fig. 6).11.4.4.3 The humidifier used should be a cool mist, ultrasonic style with no filtration an
26、d must be capable of producinga continuous water mist for 16 h with a rate of moistureproduction of approximately12 lb of mist per hour. Thechamber humidity level must be 99 % or greater in 15 to 30min after start.11.4.5 Water for Conditioning MistThe electrical resistiv-ity of the water used for we
27、tting shall meet the requirements ofIEEE Standard 4, that is, 100 m at ambient temperature65C. The resistivity may be measured by using the testmethods as described in Test Methods D1125.11.4.6 Removal of SpecimenAfter the 16 h conditioningthe samples should be removed from the box with care takenno
28、t to remove surface water, and immediately reweighed.Record difference in weight, that is, amount of water absorbedon test report.11.4.6.1 Attach sample to the test setup per Fig. 2 or Fig. 3immediately after weighing and within 5 min of removal fromthe wetting chamber.11.4.7 Wet Leakage ReadingsThe
29、 60 Hz voltage shall beraised from 1 to 50 kV rms in not less than 5 nor more than 15s. The voltage shall be held at 50 kV rms for 5 min. If at the endof 5 min the current is stable or dropping and has not exceeded250 A at any time during the test, or flashed over, thespecimen has passed the test. i
30、f the sample does not exceed 250A but is not stable or dropping in the first 5 min, the test iscontinued for an additional 5 min at which time the currentmust be stable or dropping. If at the end of the second 5 min,the current is not stable, has exceeded 250 A or has flashedover, the rope shall be
31、reported as failed.11.5 Mechanical/Physical Test Procedures:11.5.1 Specimen for TestThe specification for the testspecimen is provided in the details for each mechanical/physical test.11.5.2 Mass per Unit LengthThe procedure for determin-ing the mass per unit length shall be in accordance with TestM
32、ethods D4268 or C1500.11.5.3 Diameter and Circumference The method for de-termining the nominal circumference and diameter shall be inaccordance with Test Methods D4268 or C1500.11.5.4 HardnessHardness shall be determined in accor-dance with Cordage Institute test methods.11.5.5 Breaking StrengthThe

35、y of its own results. The precision of the resultsis a function of the procedures, facilities utilized, as well ascompliance to the recommended industry state of the artpractices. Reproducible analysis determinations by differentusers may be achieved only with identical facilities and trainedconscie
36、ntious personnel.11.6.2 Electrical Test Equipment:11.6.2.1 The test equipment shall be of such a quality thatthe applied voltage shall be within 62 % of the specified testvoltage. The voltage shall be recorded continuously at afrequency of at least once per second for the entire duration ofthe elect
37、rical testing.11.6.2.2 The current-measuring device shall be of such aquality that the current measured shall be accurate to within62 % of scale reading. The current shall be recorded continu-ously at a frequency of at least once per second for the entireduration of the electrical testing.11.6.3 Mec
38、hanical test equipment shall meet Practices E4.11.6.4 Standard Atmospheric ConditionsThe atmosphericcondition shall be substantially at a temperature of 22 6 5C(72 6 9F) and relative humidity of 35 % minimum andnegligible air movement.12. Rejection and Rehearing12.1 Material that fails to conform to
39、 the requirements ofthis specification may be rejected. Certification13.1 When specified in the purchase order or contract, thepurchaser shall be furnished certification that samples repre-senting each lot have been either tested or inspected a
41、s directedin this specification and the requirements have been met.13.2 When specified in the purchase order or contract, areport of the test results shall be furnished that includes a graphof the electrical testing results.14. Product Marking14.1 A marker strip shall be used to identify the manufac
42、-turer and year of manufacture.14.2 The marker strip material shall not compromise ordegrade the dielectric characteristics of the rope.15. Packaging and Package Marking15.1 Exterior covering shall be furnished to prevent chafingor damage to rope during transit.15.2 The manufacturers packaging shall
43、 be acceptableunless specific request is made by the purchaser.15.3 Each package shall be tagged or stenciled with weath-erproof marking referencing this specification and, as aminimum, stating manufacturers designation of rope,diameter, length, net and gross weight, manufacturer, and lotnumber.FIG.
