Materials and Manufacture5.1 FittingsThe fittings shall be made from one of thefollowing metals:5.1.1 Wrought CopperWrought

General Requirements6.1 The following sections of Specification F 877 constitutea part of this specification.6.1.1 Requirements,6.1.2 Test Methods, and6.1.3 Retest and Rejection.6.2 In addition, when a section with a title identical to thatreferenced in 6.1 appear

24、s in this specification, it containsadditional requirements that supplement those appearing inSpecification F 877.6.3 DimensionsAny randomly selected fitting or fittings,and crimp ring or crimp rings, shall be used to determinedimensions. Measurements shall be made in accordance withTest Method D 21

25、22, except when determining diameters,which is done by making measurements at four locationsspaced approximately 45 apart around the circumference.Inspection and gauging of solder joint ends shall be inaccordance with ASME B16.18, ASME B16.22, or MSSSP-104.6.4 GeneralAll performance tests shall be p

26、erformed onassemblies of fittings, crimp rings, and PEX tubing. Fittingsand crimp rings shall meet the material and dimensionalrequirements of this specification. PEX tubing shall meet therequirements of Specifications F 876 or F 877. Assembly oftest specimens shall be in accordance with 9.1.1. Use

27、separatesets of assemblies for each performance test requirement.7. Dimensions7.1 Dimensions and TolerancesThe dimensions and tol-erances of fittings and crimp rings shall be as shown in Fig. 1,Fig. 2, Fig. 3, and Fig. 4, when measured in accordance with6.3.7.1.1 AlignmentThe maximum angular variati

28、on of anyopening shall not exceed 1 off the true centerline axis.7.1.2 Fittings with Solder Joint EndsSolder joint endsshall be in accordance with ASME B16.22, ASME B16.18,orMSS SP-104.7.1.3 Tapered Threaded EndsFitting threads shall beright-hand conforming to ASME B1.20.1. They shall be taperthread

29、s (NPT).8. Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance8.1 The sealing surfaces of the insert shall be smooth andfree of foreign material. Fitting walls shall be free of cracks,holes, blisters, voids, foreign inclusions, or other defects thatare visible to the unaided eye and affect the wall integrity.9. Ass

30、embly9.1 Crimp JointsInsert fittings shall be joined to PEXtubing by the compression of a copper crimp ring around theouter circumference of the tubing, forcing the tubing materialinto annular spaces formed by ribs on the fitting. Insert fittingsand crimp rings shall meet the dimensional and materia

31、lrequirements of this standard. PEX tubing shall meet therequirements of Specifications F 876 or F 877. The dimensionsand out-of-roundness of the crimp ring, after it has beencrimped, shall be in accordance with Table 1.9.1.1 Crimping ProcedureThe crimping procedure shallbe as follows: slide the cri

32、mp ring onto the tubing, insert theribbed end of the fitting into the end of the tubing until thetubing contacts the shoulder of the fitting or tube stop. Thecrimp ring shall then be positioned on the tubing so the edge ofthe crimp ring is18 to14 in. (3.2 to 6.4 mm) from the end ofthe tube. The jaws

33、 of the crimping tool shall be centered overthe crimp ring and the tool shall be held so that the crimpingjaws are approximately perpendicular to the axis of the barb.The jaws of the crimping tool shall be closed around the crimpring, compressing the crimp ring onto the tubing. The crimpring shall n

34、ot be crimped more than once. Product Marking10.1 Quality of MarkingThe marking shall be applied tothe fittings in such a manner t

41、hat it remains legible afterinstallation and inspection.10.2 Content of Marking:10.2.1 Marking on fittings shall include manufacturersname or trademark, or some other identifying mark, and if sizepermits, PEX or the ASTM standard number, or both.10.2.1.1 Where recessed marking is used on fittings, c

42、areshall be taken to see that the marking shall not cause cracks orreduce the wall thickness below the minimum specified.10.2.2 Marking on packaging shall include manufacturersname, fitting size, and ASTM F 1807.10.2.3 Marking on crimp rings shall include manufacturerstrademark, or some other identi

43、fying mark, and ASTM F1807.11. Quality Assurance11.1 When the product or product packing is marked withthe ASTM designation F 1807, the manufacturer affirms thatthe product was manufactured, inspected, sampled, and testedin accordance with this specification, and has been found tomeet its requiremen
