These fittings areintended for use in 100 psi (689.5 kPa) cold and hot

Measurements shall be madein accordance with Test Method D 2122. Determine the diam-eters by making measurements at four poi
19、nts spaced approxi-mately 45 apart around the circumference. Inspection andgauging of solder joint ends shall be in accordance with ANSIB16.18, ANSI B16.22, or MSS SP-104. Inspection and gaug-ing of taper pipe threads shall be in accordance with ANSI/ASME G1.20.1. All fittings that will be subjected
20、 to secondaryprocesses of mechanical marking that affect their dimensionaltolerances shall be tested in their final marked configuration.7. Workmanship, Finish and Appearance8.1 The sealing, mating and threaded surfaces of the fit-ting(s) shall be smooth and free of foreign material.
27、 The fittingwalls shall be free of cracks, holes, blisters, voids, foreigninclusions, or other defects that are visible to the unmagnifiedeye and that may affect the wall integrity.9. Assembly9.1 JointsMechanical Cold Expansion Insert Fittings withCompression Sleeve shall be joined to the PEX tubing
28、 bydrawing a compression sleeve over the PEX tubing that hasbeen cold expanded and into which the fitting has beeninserted. This action forces the tubing into annular spacesformed by ribs on the fitting. Fittings and compression sleevesshall meet the dimensional tolerances of this Specification.PEX
29、tubing shall meet the requirements of Specification F 876or F 877.9.1.1 Solder Joints Soldering of fittings joints shall becompleted prior to installation of the PEX tubing. 34、 Inspect the end forburrs or foreign debris. Slide the compression sleeve onto thetubing at least 1 in. (25 mm) beyond the end of the tube. Insertthe properly sized expansion tool (see Note 1) fully into thetubing until the end of the tube meets the stop on the tool.Expand the tubing to the fullest
35、reach of the tool. The fullestreach of the tool shall not expand the inside diameter of thetubing more than 0.20 in. (5.0 mm) for sizes up to58 in.nominal and 0.24 in. (6.0 mm) for larger sizes up to 1 in. Insertthe fitting into the expanded tube. Place the joining tool ontothe fitting assembly in a
36、ccordance with the tool manufacturersinstructions (see Note 1). Operate the joining tool to slide thecompression sleeve over the tubing and until it reaches the stopon the fitting. Remove the joining tool. Compression sleevesthat are damaged in any way shall not be re-used.NOTE 1Tool manufacturers p
37、rovide a variety of expansion tools andjoining tools with adapters for use on the various fittings configurationsand sizes. These tools may utilize mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, orpneumatic devices to actuate their mechanisms. One inch sizes may notrequire expansion.10. Quality Assurance10.1 Wh
38、en the product or product packing is marked withthe ASTM designation F 1865, the manufacturer affirms thatthe product was manufactured, inspected, sampled, and testedin accordance with this specification, and has been found tomeet the requirements of this specification.11. Product Marking11.1 Qualit
39、y of MarkingThe marking shall be applied tothe fittings in such a manner that it remains legible afterinstallation and inspection.11.2 Content of Marking:11.2.1 Marking on fittings shall include manufacturersname or trademark, or some other identifying mark. Additionalmarking shall include ASTM stan
40、dard number and PEX, if sizepermits.11.2.1.1 Where recessed marking is used on fittings, careshall be taken to see that in no case shall the marking causecracks or reduce the wall thickness below the minimumspecified.11.2.2 Marking on packaging shall include manufacturersname, fitting size, and ASTM
41、 F 1865.11.2.3 Markings on compression sleeves shall includemanufacturers trademark or some other identifying mark andASTM F 1865.11.3 When the product is marked with this ASTM designa-tion ASTM F 1865, the manufacturer affirms that the productwas manufactured, inspected, sampled, and tested in acco
