Ordering/Specifying Information5.1 Ordering or specifying barbed tape shall include thefollowing information as per sample specification, or byreferencing item numbers in Tables 1 and 2 (indicate number ofloo

7、ps, if applicable). Material furnished under this specificationshall conform to applicable requirements of current editions ofASTM Standards.NOTE 1The following sample specification is provided to assist whenspecifying or ordering barbed tape material.Actual size and style will varyby individual job

8、 requirements.Sample Specification OnlyBarbed tape obstacle shall be 30 in.diameter (62 in.). Each loop shall consist of 24 (61) clusters of fourneedle-sharp barbs on 4 in. centers, each barb measuring a minimum of1.2 in. in length. The barbed tape shall be fabricated from Series 430stainless steel

9、with optional hardness. The barbed tape shall be perma-nently coldclenched over an austenitic mechanical spring core wire. Thewire shall have a diameter of 0.098 in. with a minimum tensile strength ofapproximately 140 psi. The barbed tape shall have a minimum 230 wrapabout the core wire. Adjacent al

10、ternate loops shall be clipped together infive (5) locations around the circumference to obtain the concertina effect.Clip spacing of the extended coil shall be 12 6 2 in. Clips shall be capableof withstanding a minimum pull load of 200 lb. Each coil shall contain 51loops and cover 25 6 1 ft.5.1.1 Q

11、uantityThe number of units of barbed tape re-quired. For fixed length units, the length per unit should bespecified.5.1.2 Description Barbed tape shall be described as singlecoil helical, single coil concertina, double coil concertina, ordouble coil helical.5.1.3 DiameterThe purchaser shall specify

12、the packageddiameter. When double coil products are specified, the innerand outer coil packaged diameters shall be given.5.1.4 Barb LengthRefer to Terminology F1379 and Tables1 and 2.5.1.5 Coil LoopsThe number of coil loops shall be speci-fied by the purchaser.5.1.6 Unit LengthThe purchaser shall sp

28、red to theAISA or UNS designations to ensure the correct chemistry.6.1.1.1 Ferritic stainless steels shall be produced in accor-dance with Specification A176 or Specification A240/A240M.6.1.1.2 Austenitic stainless steels shall be purchased inaccordance with Specification A666.7. 29、issible Variations7.1 Permissible variations within coil diameters shall be asspecified in Tables 1 and 2 for standard trade sizes.8. Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance8.1 WorkmanshipCoil loops shall not be kinked, unless itis part of the design.8.1.1 Each coil shall be one continuous length proper

30、lycoiled and firmly tied for shipping. Welds made in the stripprior to forming are permitted. A maximum of three splices percoil are permitted either by overlapping and welding orpermanently clamping together with a suitable device designedfor the purpose.8.2 Surfaces shall be smooth and free of rus

31、t with no seriousdefects, such as pits, die marks, and other defects to impair theintegrity of the product.9. Certification9.1 When specified in the purchase order or contract, amanufacturers certification of compliance shall be furnished tothe purchaser showing the quantity, size and type of barbed

32、tape. The certification of compliance shall state that therepresentative barbed tape is in accordance with the specifica-tion.10.
