3、cing rings for use with cross-linkedpolyethylene (PEX) plastic tubing in38,12,58,34,1,114,112in. 2, 214, and 3 in. nominal diameters that meet the require-ments of Specifications F876 and F877. These fittings areintended for use in 100 psi (690 kPa) cold- and hot-waterdistribution systems operating

4、at temperatures up to andincluding 180F (82C). The system is comprised of a PEXreinforcing ring and a cold expansion fitting. Included are therequirements for materials, workmanship, dimensions, andmarkings to be used on the fitting components. The compo-nents covered by this specification are inten

5、ded for use inresidential and commercial, hot and cold, potable water distri-bution systems as well as sealed central heating, includingunder-floor-heating systems.1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas standard. 25、 a ratio exceeding 25%.5.2 Reinforcing rings shall be made from PEX materialmeeting the performance requirements of 6.1.5.3 Stainless Steelfittings shall be made from materialmeeting the requirements of Specification A351/A351M, stain-less steel UNS No. J92800.5.4 Wrought CopperWrought copper fittin

26、gs shall bemade from material meeting the requirements of SpecificationB75 for one of the following coppers: copper UNS C10200,C10300, C10800, or C12200.6. General Requirements6.1 The following sections of Specification F877 constitutea part of this specification.6.1.1 Requirements,6.1.2 Test Method

27、s, and6.1.3 Retest and Rejection.6.2 In addition, when a section with a title identical to thatreferenced in 6.1, above, appears in this specification, itcontains additional requirements that supplement those appear-ing in F877.6.3 System Performance Requirements:6.3.1 GeneralAll performance tests s

28、hall be performed onassemblies of fittings, PEX reinforcing rings and PEX tubing.Fittings and reinforcing rings shall meet the material anddimensional requirements of this specification. PEX tubingshall meet the requirements of Specifications F876 and F877.Assembly of test specimens shall be in acco

29、rdance with 10.1.Each assembly shall contain at least two joints. Use separatesets of assemblies for each performance test requirement.6.3.2 DimensionsAny randomly selected fitting or fittingsand PEX reinforcing rings shall be used to determine dimen-sions. Measurements shall be made in accordance w

30、ith TestMethod D2122, except determine diameter by making mea-surements at four locations spaced at approximately 45 apartaround the circumference. Inspection and gauging of solderjoint ends shall be accordance with ANSI B16.18, ANSIB16.22, or Manufacturers Standardization Society SP-104.7. Performa

35、ng threads shall beright-hand conforming to ANSI B1.20.1. They shall be taperthreads (NPT).9. Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance9.1 The fittings shall be made from compounds that arehomogeneous throughout. The sealing surfaces of the insertshall be smooth and free of foreign material. The fitting w

36、allsshall be free of cracks, holes, blisters, voids, foreign inclusions,or other defects that are visible to the naked eye and that affectwall integrity.10.
