3、1.1 This specification covers sheet linoleum floor covering.1.2 Three types of linoleum floor covering are covered (seeSection 4). These floor coverings are intended for use incommercial, light commercial, and residential buildings basedon serviceability characteristics. General information and per-

4、formance characteristics, which determine serviceability andrecommended use, are included in this specification.1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas the standard; the values in parentheses are provided forinformation only.1.4 The following safety hazards caveat pertains onl

Classification4.1 The floor coverings shall be of the following types:Type I Linoleum sheet with backingType II Static

Ordering Information5.1 Linoleum sheet shall be ordered by type, class, thick-ness, and other characteristics important to the purchaser forthe intended use.5.1.1 Title, number, and date of this specification.5.1.2

12、 Type, class, and pattern number.5.1.3 Quantity in square yards (square metres).5.1.4 Thickness required (see Section 8).5.1.5 Sampling if other than as specified in ANSI/ASQCZ1.4, level S-1, as noted in Table 1.5.1.6 Packing requirement if other than specified (see Sec-tion 14).1This specification

Material6.1 Wear SurfaceThe wear surface is the portion abovethe fibrous or suitable backing/bedding

16、 layer or base coat. Thewear surface should have a minimum thickness of 0.04 in. (1mm).6.1.1 Type I / Type II / Type IIIFor all types, the wearsurface of the linoleum shall consist of a homogeneous mixtureof linseed oil or vegetable drying oils, or both; rosin, woodflour, or cork flour, or a combina

17、tion thereof; color pigments;and inorganic filler. For Type II, the linoleum shall haveincorporated into the wearing surface additives, which willgive the linoleum electrostatic discharge controlling properties.6.2 Backings:6.2.1 JuteThe jute backing shall be firmly bonded to andpartially embedded i

18、n the linoleum mix.6.2.2 Special BackingIn some cases a special backing isadded such as cork, polyolefin, or other suitable backing.6.3 CompositionThe minimum amount of linoleum ce-ment shall be 30 % when tested in accordance with EuropeanNorm 670.7. Performance Requirements7.1 Linoleum sheet floor

19、covering shall meet the require-ments in Table 1.8. Dimensions8.1 Linoleum sheet flooring is available in standard widthsof 79 in. (2 m) and typical lengths of 65 ft (20 m) to 105 ft (32m). Other widths and lengths may be available.8.2 Linoleum sheet is available in standard thicknesses of0.080 in.

20、(2.0 mm), 0.100 in. (2.5 mm), 0.125 in. (3.2 mm), and0.160 in. (4.0 mm). Other gages may be available.9. Workmanship, Finish and Appearance9.1 Materials furnished under this specification shall be anacceptable match to an approved sample(s) in pattern, color,and surface appearance. The product shall

21、 be free of defectsthat would adversely affect performance or appearance.9.2 Drying Room FilmThis will disappear when thelinoleum is exposed to either natural or artificial light to give astable color in service. It may reappear or not disappear inareas not exposed to light.10. Sampling10.1 Sampling

22、 for testing physical characteristics listed inTable 2 shall be done in accordance with the provisions setforth in ANSI/ASQC Z1.4. The inspection level shall bespecial inspection level S-1 as noted in Table I, and theacceptance quality level (AQL) shall be 6.5 defects perhundred units as noted in Ta

23、ble II-A, or as specified in 10.2.10.2 Sampling for testing physical characteristics listedshall be done in accordance with provisions set forth inANSI/ASQC Z1.4. The inspection level shall be specialinspection level S-1 as noted in Table I, and the acceptancequality level (AQL) shall be 6.5 defects

24、 per hundred units asnoted in Table II, or as specified in 10.1.11. Test Methods11.1 Overall ThicknessThe overall thickness when mea-sured shall be determined in accordance with Test MethodF 386 except that the presser foot shall exert a total force of 16 0.1 oz (28.3 6 2.8 g) on the specimen. The t

25、hickness of thesample should be the average of the measurements on the threespecimens taken 12 in. (305 mm) in from each edge and thecenter of the sample.11.2 Static LoadResidual indentation shall be determinedin accordance with Test Method F 970, except a load of 150 lb(67.5 kg) shall be applied.11

26、.3 Resistance to ChemicalsThe chemical resistance oflinoleum sheet flooring shall be determined in accordance withTest Method F 925 when exposed to the following chemicals:White vinegar (5 % acetic acid)Rubbing alcohol (70 % isopropyl alcohol)White mineral oil (medicinal grade)Hydrochloric acid (5 %

Many proprietary com-pounds contain one or more of these chemicals. Should the flooring for anunusual applica

32、tion need to be resistant to a specific chemical, thisadditional requirement should become part of the procurement document.11.4 Resistance to HeatThe resistance of the linoleumsheet flooring to color change from exposure to an elevatedtemperature of 158F (70C), over a specified time of 7 days,shall

33、 be determined in accordance with Test Method F 1514.Remove drying room film (stove yellowing) by exposing thesample to a Xenon-Arc light source for a minimum of 24 hbefore measuring initial color.11.5 Resistance to LightThe resistance of the linoleumsheet flooring to color change from exposure to l

34、ight, simulatedby a properly fitted Xenon-Arc radiant energy source, over aspecified time of 200 h, shall be determined in accordance withTest Method F 1515. Remove drying room film (stove yellow-ing) by exposing the sample to a Xenon-Arc light source for aminimum of 24 h before measuring initial co

35、lor.11.6 FlexibilityThe flexibility shall be such that the wearsurface will not crack or break when bent face out over thespecified diameter mandrel.11.7 Static DissipationThe static dissipative properties ofType II linoleum sheet flooring shall be determined in accor-dance with Test Method F 150 wh

36、en tested at 100 or 500 V,surface to ground.11.8 Wear SurfaceThe thickness of the wear surface shallbe determined in accordance with Test Method F 410. Theminimum thickness of the wear surface/topcoat shall be 0.04in. (1 mm).12. Inspection12.1 Sampling for inspection of the sheet linoleum floorcover

37、ing for defects that would adversely affect performance(9.1) shall be done in accordance with the provisions set forthin ANSI/ASQC Z1.4. The inspection level shall be Level 1 asnoted in Table I and the acceptance quality level (AQL) shallbe 6.5 defects per hundred units as noted in Table II-A or sha

38、llbe specified in 12.2.12.2 Inspection of the linoleum floor covering for defectsthat would adversely affect performance (Section 7) shall beagreed upon by the purchaser and the manufacturer as part ofthe procurement documents or shall be as specified in 5.1.13. Certification13.1 When specified in t

39、he purchase order or contract, amanufacturers certification shall be furnished to the purchaserthat the material was manufactured, sampled, tested, inspectedand packaged in accordance with this specification and hasbeen found to meet the requirements.14. Packaging, Packing and Marking14.1 The linole

40、um floor covering shall be packaged andmarked in accordance with normal commercial practice andpacked to ensure acceptance by common carrier and to provideproduct protection against damage during normal shipping,handling, and storage.14.2 When product sample sets, sample set cover cards, andmarketin

41、g and technical literature reference this specification,the complete product classification information relative to thisspecification shall be included.15.
