3、fety Commission (CPSC) estimates that there were 8100 emergency roomtreated injuries associated with the tipover of furniture in 1994.relating to clothing storage units. Inresponse to the incident data compiled by the CPSC, this consumer safety specification attempts tominimize the hazards associate

4、d with these products. This consumer safety specification does notapply to products that are blatantly misused, nor does it apply to products used by consumers in acareless manner that violate normal practice or disregard the instructions or warnings provided withthe product, or both.In addition, th

5、e CPSC received reports of about six deaths each year associated with furnituretipover. Approximately two thirds of the deaths were said to have involved items with drawers, suchas dressers, bureaus, and chests of drawers. Approximately 80 % were to children under the age offive.1. Scope1.1 This saf

6、ety specification is intended to reduce injuries and deaths of children from hazards associated with tipover ofclothing storage units.free-standing clothing storage units, such as chests, door chests and dressers, over 30 in. (762 mm) in height.1.2 This safety specification covers chests, dressers,

7、door chests, chest-on-chests, tall chests, lingerie chests, bureaus, andarmoires.1.2 This safety specification does not cover shelving units, such as bookcases or entertainment centers, night stands, orunder-bed drawer storage units.furniture, office furniture, dining room furniture, jewelry armoire

Performance Requirements4.1 With the unit empty, empty and without the tipover restraint, test the unit in accordance with 4.17.1 and 4.27.2.4.2 During the test, the unit shall not tip over or be supported only by an opened drawer, opened door, o

21、r opened or unopenedflap.by any component unless that component was specifically designed for that purpose.4.3 If a failed component prohibits the completion of the test, the unit is to have the failed component then the failedcomponent(s) shall be repaired or replaced to the original specifications

Test Procedure7.1 Stability of Unloaded Unit:7.1.1 Position the empty unit on a level flat surface composed of either con
