Scope1.1 This test method covers
3、the determination of thicknessof resilient nontextile floor coverings including tile and sheethaving flat surfaces. This test method should not be used onmaterials having a foamed layer.1.2 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is th

Significance and Use2.1 Measurement of the thickness of the product may berequired for quality control purposes or to ensure c
5、ompliancewith applicable specifications.3. Apparatus3.1 The apparatus shall consist of a comparator stand havinga flat anvil base at least 6 in. (15 cm) square, equipped with athickness gage graduated to 0.001 in. (0.02 mm). The gageshall be equipped with a flat presser foot 0.2506 0.01 in. (6.356 0
6、.5 mm) in diameter. The foot shall exert a force of 16 6 0.1ozf (4.45 6 0.03 N) maximum.3.1.1 The contact surfaces of the anvil and the thicknessgage presser foot shall be parallel within 0.0001 in. (0.003mm).3.1.2 Before placing the micrometer into operation, thesurfaces shall be cleaned so the gag
7、e zeros properly.4. Test Specimens4.1 The test specimen shall be a minimum of one tile or a 12by 12-in. (300 by 300-mm) piece of sheet flooring.5. Calibration5.1 Calibrate the gage by means of gage blocks or shimstock of known thickness appropriate to the thickness of thematerial being measured.6. C
8、onditioning6.1 Condition the test specimen at least 24 h at 736 3F (236 2C) and 50 6 5 % relative humidity and test in the sameenvironment.7. Procedure7.1 Place the specimen with the wearing surface upward onthe comparator stand anvil, taking care that the specimen is flatagainst the anvil.7.2 Lower
9、 the presser foot gently until it contacts thesurface of the specimen.7.3 Upon contact with the surface, take a reading to thenearest 0.001 in. (0.02 mm) from the gage. Take all measure-ments at least 0.75 in. (19 mm) from any edge of the specimen.7.4 Take a total of five measurements on each specim
10、en, atrandomly selected locations unless otherwise specified.8. Calculation8.1 Calculate the average thickness of each specimen.9. Report9.1 Report the average thickness of each specimen to thenearest 0.001 in. (0.02 mm).9.1.1 Report the minimum or maximum thickness, or both ifrequired by the specif
