In the case of no prioragreement, random samples selected by the testing laboratoryshall be deemed adequate.7.4 Hydrostatic Sustained Pressure Determine in accor-dance with Test Method D1598, except for the following:7.4.

42、1 Test at least six joints, from randomly selected speci-mens assembled per the manufacturers instructions with atleast 5-pipe diameters between joints.7.4.2 Test temperature shall be 180 6 4F (82 6 2C).7.4.3 The external test environment shall be air or water.7.4.4 Fill the specimens with water at

44、 This test method provides a measure of resistance tofailure due to the combined effects of differential thermalexpansion and creep for PEX tubing and fittings intended forcontinuous use up to and including 180F (82C).7.5.2 ApparatusA nitrogen or air source capable of main-taining a nominal internal

The specimen shallbe cycled from one reservoir to the other or the hot and coldwater shall be alternately cycled o

46、ver the test specimensautomatically and returned to the proper reservoirs.NOTE 3Automatic cycling may be accomplished by pumping fromeach reservoir, through a delivery system having timer-actuated valves, toa specimen water trough having synchronized, timer-actuated returndrains. Any automatic appar

47、atus shall provide for complete immersion ofthe test specimen in the trough.7.5.3 Sampling and Specimen Preparation Select at leastsix joints from randomly selected specimens assembled per themanufacturers instructions. Close the specimen assembly withany suitable end closures that allow “free-end”

48、mounting andwill not leak under the thermocycling conditions, and connectthe specimen assembly to the pressure source.7.5.4 ProcedurePressurize the specimen assembly withnitrogen or air to 100 6 10 psi (0.69 6 0.069 MPa) . Immersein 60 6 4F (16 6 2C) water to determine if there are anyinitial leaks.

49、 All leaks shall be eliminated before the thermo-cycling test is started. Thermally cycle the specimen assemblyeither manually or automatically and under an internal pressureof 100 6 10 psi (0.696 0.069 MPa), alternately between 60 64F (16 6 2C) and 180 6 4F (82 6 2C) by means ofimmersion in water using the following test cycle:Water immersion at 180F (82C) 2 min (min)Air immersion at ambient 2 min (max)Water immersion at 60F (16C) 2 min (min)Air immersion at ambient 2 min (max)TABLE 1 Burst Pressure Requirements fo
