Commer-cial materials designated as composite or enveloped gaskets areexcluded from this cl
4、assification and are covered by Classifi-cation F868 and Practice F336, respectively.1.2 Since all of the properties that contribute to gasketperformance are not included, use of this classification as abasis for selecting an MLS or Metal Layer gasket is limited.1.3 This standard does not purport to

Basis of Classification5.1 This classification is based on the principle that MLSand Metal Layer gaskets should be described, in terms of thetransportati
12、on application and construction. Thus, users ofMLS and Metal Layer gaskets can, by selecting differentcombinations, define various parts needed for specific applica-tions.
