3、ircraft.1.1.1 This specification covers the minimum requirementsfor information that shall be provided by the manufacturer orseller of new lighter-than-air aircraft as a part of the initial saleor transfer to the first end user.1.2 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns,

It is theresponsibility of the user of this standard to establish appro-priate safety and health practices and to determine theapplicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.2. Terminology2.1 Definitions:2.1.1 airshipengine-driven lighter-than-air aircraft tha

5、tcan be steered.2.1.2 AOIAircraft Operating Instructions.2.1.3 balloonlighter-than-air aircraft that is not engine-driven, and that sustains flight through the use of either gasbuoyancy or an airborne heater.2.1.4 lighter-than-air aircraftaircraft that can rise andremain suspended by using contained

6、 gas weighing less thanthe air that is displaced by the gas.2.1.4.1 DiscussionAircraft may include dynamic lift thatderive as much as 30 % lift from other than buoyancy.2.1.5 thermal airshipairship using heated air for a portionof its lift, incorporating design features to prevent nosecollapse due t

7、o dynamic pressure and exempt from specificpressurized envelope requirements.2.1.6 vectored thrust balloonthermal balloon with thrustcapability that does not have design features to prevent forwardenvelope collapse due to dynamic pressure and is thereforelimited in its lateral speed capability.3. In

8、formation Requirements3.1 The manufacturer shall provide critical information foreach aircraft. This information shall include, but not be limitedto, the information plate attached to the aircraft, the placardnotice, Aircraft Operating Instructions, the maintenancemanual, and the manufacturers state

9、ment of compliance, asdefined in the following paragraphs. Additional aircraft typespecific requirements are provided in the annexes.3.2 Information PlateA manufacturer-issued stainlesssteel information plate, printed in English, shall be perma-nently affixed to the aircraft in a visible location an

10、d shall bedesigned to remain legible for the expected life of the aircraft.The information plate shall have the required informationeither stamped or engraved into the plate.3.2.1 Serial NumberA manufacturer-issued unique iden-tifying number or code.3.2.2 Name and Manufacturer, shall include the air

11、craftname, the manufacturers name, and the manufacturers mainlocation including, city, state, and country.3.2.3 Model NumberA manufacturer-issued unique iden-tifying number or code assigned to each manufactured type ofaircraft having the same structural design or components.3.2.4 Date of Manufacture

12、The date (month and year)determined by the manufacturer that the aircraft met hisrequired design and manufacturing specifications.4. Placard Notice4.1 The following placard notice shall be posted in theaircraft passenger area so that it is visible to both the pilot andpassenger upon entry or while s

13、eated in the aircraft. Thelettering shall be a minimum of 3.1 mm (18 in.) high.4.1.1 PASSENGER NOTICE: This aircraft conforms toASTM Consensus Standards of airworthiness developed andmaintained by the aviation community under ASTM TechnicalCommittee F37.5. Maintenance Manual6.1 The manual shall provide, but not be limited to, theminimum maintenance requirements as defined by the aircraftmanufacturer and instructions and forms for owners of aircraftto report service i

17、ssues, difficulties, malfunctions, or failures tothe manufacturer.6.2 The manufacturer shall identify, as a minimum, thefollowing areas of service issues, difficulties, malfunctions, orfailures as requiring owner/operator reporting:6.2.1 Failure of flight (or ground) load-bearing structure,6.2.2 Fai

18、lure of ability to maintain control of the aircraft,6.2.3 Structure failures that might injure the aircraft occu-pants,6.2.4 Events whose occurrence might damage the aircraft sothat a safe completion of the flight is not likely,6.2.5 Possible fire, and6.2.6 Loss of information needed to safely fly t

19、he aircraft.7. Manufacturers Statement of Compliance7.1 The statement shall include a statement identifying theASTM standards used for the design, quality control, continuedmaintenance, and production acceptance testing of the aircraftand attesting to the fact that the aircraft is in compliance with

20、the provisions of those specifications.8. Significance and Use8.1 The purpose of this specification is to require provisionof the minimum information necessary for the proper identifi-cation, maintenance, and operation of light sport aircraft.9. Pilots and passengershave a duty to exercise
