4、flooring in commercial buildings.1.2 This practice points out the factors that are required tobe controlled while installing thick poured lightweight cellularconcrete underlayment as a base for resilient flooring.1.3 This practice does not cover the structural adequacy ofthe wood structural panel su

Thestructural integrity of assemblies is governed by local buildingcodes.1.4 This practice does not supercede the thick pouredlightweight cellular concrete underlayment manufacturers,adhesive manufacturers or resilient flooring manufacturerswritten instructions. Terminology3.1 Definitions used in this practice shall be in accordancewith Terminology F 141.3.2 Definitions of Terms Specific to This Standard:3.2.1 fully adhered flooring, nresilient flooring which hasadhesive under the entire product, bonding i

Signi
17、ficance and Use4.1 This practice provides minimum recommendations forthe installation of thick poured lightweight cellular concretefloor underlayments suitable to receive resilient floor cover-ings. This practice establishes the proper preparation, installa-tion and quality control for thick poured
18、lightweight cellularconcrete floor underlayments.4.2 Actual requirements for thick poured lightweight cellu-lar concrete underlayments are generally included as part ofproject plans or specifications and may vary from the recom-mendations set forth in this practice. Project plans or specifi-cations,
19、 or both, shall supersede the recommendations set forthin this practice.5. Product Requirements5.1 For the purposes of this practice, thick poured light-weight cellular concrete underlayment shall be Portland ce-ment based compounds.5.2 Thick poured lightweight cellular concrete underlay-ment shall
20、be tested for pH, measured in accordance withPractice F 710. PH shall not exceed 11.5.3 Thick poured lightweight cellular concrete underlay-ments shall be tested for compressive strength. Specified psishall be a minimum of 2000 psi (13.8 MPa) for use over woodsubfloors and 3000 psi (20.7 MPa) for us
21、e over concretesubfloors.5.4 Field density checks in accordance with SpecificationC 330 shall be made periodically and variations greater than61 pcf (16 kg/m3) between the recommended density and thedensity at the point of discharge will require a modification tothe mix. Weighing the material at the
22、 point of placement in acontainer of a known volume checks the cast density.5.5 Thick poured lightweight cellular concrete underlay-ments shall be tested for the presence of chlorides. Thickpoured lightweight cellular concrete underlayments shall notcontain calcium chloride. Test method shall be pro
23、vided by themanufacturer of the thick poured lightweight cellular concreteunderlayment.5.6 Thick poured lightweight cellular concrete underlay-ments shall be tested for density in accordance with Specifi-cation C 330. Specified density shall be a minimum of 110 pcf(1762 kg/m3).6. Storage and Handlin
24、g of Thick Poured LightweightCellular Concrete Underlayments6.1 Factory-sealed containers of foaming agent shall bestored at room temperature. Materials shall be delivered to thejobsite by the manufacturer of the thick poured lightweightcellular concrete underlayment using approved methods.7. Genera
25、l Guidelines7.1 Recommended floor joist spacing is 16 in. (406 mm) oncenter maximum for panel assemblies. Subfloor shall supportdesign loads with maximum L/360 deflection.7.2 Wood and concrete subfloors shall be clean, dry, andstructurally sound so as to support both the uniform design liveand dead
26、loads in compliance with the local building code andthe resilient flooring manufacturers installation requirements.7.3 The surfaces of the structural subfloor assemblies shallbe clean, smooth, and free of construction wastes such asacoustic and wall texture, over spray, dirt, solvents, oil, grease,r
27、esidual construction adhesives, adhesive removers, and otherforeign materials. Concrete subfloors shall be 28 days or olderand dry as tested by Test Method F 2170.7.4 Before, during and after installation of thick pouredlightweight cellular concrete underlayment, the General Con-tractor shall be res
28、ponsible for ensuring that the building shallbe ventilated and heated to a minimum of 50F (10C) untilsubfloor and ambient temperatures have stabilized. Tempera-ture during and after installation shall be maintained untilmaterial has completely cured. The General Contractor shallprovide heat and vent
29、ilation as necessary to dry the thickpoured lightweight cellular concrete underlayments. In winter,inside temperature shall not exceed 60F (15.6C).37.5 Installation of thick poured lightweight cellular concreteunderlayment shall not begin until the building is enclosed,including roof, windows, doors
30、 and other openings. GeneralContractor shall be responsible to provide continuous ventila-tion until the underlayment is dry. Ceilings shall be sprayed orstippled to avoid over spray.7.6 Before installation of thick poured lightweight cellularconcrete underlayment, the condition of the structural su
31、bfloorassemblies and any required elevations shall be inspected andapproved by the general contractor or owner, or both. Allrequired flooring and nailing inspections shall be completed.7.7 Thick poured lightweight cellular concrete underlay-ment installation shall be by an Applicator approved to do
32、thistype of installation by the manufacturer, experienced in per-forming the work of this practice, who has been trained ininstallation of work similar to the project under construction.38. Preparation of Subfloor8.1 The structural panel subfloor assemblies shall be ofwood structural panel construct
33、ion, dry, level, securely nailed,and reasonably clean, without projections. Loose boards infloors with board subfloors or panels shall be renailed. Badlycupped or warped board subfloors shall be replaced beforeinstallation of underlayment. Concrete subfloors shall be 28days or older and dry as teste

Installation of Underlayment9.1 To minimize damage caused by other trades, the proce-dures in Section 11 shall be followed.
36、9.2 Thick poured lightweight cellular underlayment thick-ness shall be a minimum of 112 in. (38 mm).39.3 A subfloor bond breaker shall be required. Asphalt-impregnated Kraft paper shall be stapled to the wood subfloor.9.4 Liquid foaming agent is diluted in water and mixed withair under pressure in a
37、 foam generator to produce stable foam.Concrete consisting of pre-formed foam is added to a cement/sand grout in a ready-mix truck to produce a thick pouredlightweight cellular concrete underlayment that is pumped ontothe subfloor.39.5 Where the thick poured lightweight cellular concreteunderlayment
38、 widths change at alcoves and other similarrecesses, it shall be reinforced with a 12 in. wide (305 mm) by16 in. long (406 mm) strip of 4 by 4 in. (102 by 102 mm) 14/14gauge welded wire mesh, extending each side of the corners atan angle of 45 degrees. As an alternative, plates shall beinserted thro
39、ugh or a weakened plane joint made with acontinuous 112 in. (38 mm) by 1 in. (25 mm) light gauge steelangle divider.39.6 The maximum size of thick poured lightweight cellularconcrete underlayment between control joints is 20 by 20 ft (6by 6 m).39.7 The thick poured lightweight cellular concrete unde
40、rlay-ment shall be scored at doorways serving rooms larger than200 ft2(18.6 m2).39.8 All areas to receive resilient floor coverings shall besteel troweled.9.9 For sound control purposes, perimeter caulking shall beinstalled.39.10 If plastic shrinkage cracking occurs, even though it isrepaired, a wea
41、kened section may remain which is vulnerableto further cracking. All weakened sections shall be removed.10. Field Quality Control10.1 Thick poured lightweight cellular concrete underlay-ment shall be tested for slump as it is being installed. The mixdesign shall be as recommended by the manufacturer
42、 of thethick poured lightweight cellular concrete underlayment.10.2 Thick poured lightweight cellular concrete underlay-ments shall be tested for density. Specified density shall be aminimum of 110 pcf (1762 kg/m3).10.3 To determine minimum compressive strengths, speci-mens of poured lightweight cel
43、lular concrete shall be taken atthe point of placement in 6 by 12 in. (150 by 300 mm)cylinders. Compressive strength tests shall be done in accor-dance with Specification C 330. Manufacturer of the thickpoured lightweight cellular concrete underlayment shall rec-ommend how often sample cylinders sha
44、ll be taken.11. Protection from Other Trades11.1 Because satisfactory performance of the finish flooringdepends in part on the condition of the surface of the thickpoured lightweight cellular concrete underlayment, care shallbe taken to avoid traffic on the thick poured lightweight cellularconcrete
45、underlayment after installation. Loads and foot trafficshall be kept off the underlayment for 24 h. The underlaymentshall not be loaded with drywall for one week. When loaded,the loads shall be distributed and not concentrated at centerspan. Damage to the underlayment surface or the resilientfloorin
46、g installation can occur if water, oil, paint, solvent, dirt,and other debris are spilled or tracked onto the thick pouredlightweight cellular concrete underlayment.12. Preparation of Thick Poured Lightweight CellularConcrete Underlayment Surface12.1 Final preparation of the thick poured lightweight
47、 cel-lular concrete underlayment shall be accomplished just prior toapplication of the floor covering. The surface of the floor shallbe cleaned of all loose material by scraping, brushing, vacu-uming, or other methods, or combination thereof, recom-mended by resilient flooring manufacturer, immediat
48、ely beforecommencing installation of resilient flooring.12.2 All cracked areas shall be repaired and replaced ifnecessary. Any loose areas shall be epoxy injected.12.3 Thick poured lightweight cellular concrete underlay-ments shall be tested for relative humidity in accordance withTest Method F 2170
49、.12.4 Surface cracks, grooves, depressions, and other irregu-larities shall be filled or smoothed with appropriate patching orunderlayment compound for filling or smoothing, or both,wood, fiber-cement, or gypsum fiber panel surfaces. Patchingand self-leveling compounds for use on panel underlaymentsshall be moisture and alkali-resistant and suitable for commer-cial installations. Refer to patch and self-leveling compoundmanufacturers recommendations for mix and application in-structions. Also check resilient manufacturers recommenda-tions.12.5 Prior to installation of f
