17、adding multiple fence lines to createisolation zones, adding slats to the fencing to restrict visibilitywhen required. Adding anti ram cable systems to resist vehiclepenetration into a protected perimeter.5. Part 1General5.1 List the scope of work included; the performancerequirements of the overall

18、 project security design criteria, theperformance design criteria for the fence system, referencedcontract documents, fence design and detail drawings, materialspecifications, related site work, site drawings with the specificfence layout, product and data submittals, certifications, sitepreparation

19、, contractor qualifications, warranties and the fenceintegration with other security products.5.1.1 Fence placement can be critical and should be wellthought out and defined by the contract specifications anddrawings. Placement should be coordinated with the gradingplan to ensure it does inhibit dra

20、inage flow by location ordebris buildup.5.1.2 Consideration should be given to the fence location toprovide the proper offset to protect a building or provide a clearzone from trees, underbrush, buildings and structures. Quali-fying Federal building sites require specified fence set backdistances fr

21、om the building in compliance with the DoDMinimum Antiterrorism Standards for Buildings, UFC 4-040-01.5.1.3 Consideration should be given during design of thefence to ensure it will properly support the application of addedintrusion detection devices. An integrated system using light-ing with video

22、surveillance requires a specific fence layout, forexample, the fence must be located to avoid blocking the viewor reduce shadows.5.1.4 Signage posted along the fence line should always bea consideration.6. Materials and Sizes6.1 Chain Link Fabric:6.1.1 There are many chain link mesh design configura

23、-tions; those to be considered for security fencing, in order ofdifficulty to penetrate are listed in Table 1.6.1.2 Select the chain link mesh configuration from Table 1;choose the type of coating required from one of the following:6.1.2.1 Zinc-Coated Steel in accordance with SpecificationA 392, sel

24、ect Class 1 or Class 2 coating.NOTE 158-in. 16-mm,12-in. 13-mm and38-in. 10-mm smallermesh sizes are not listed in Specification A 392.6.1.2.2 Aluminum Coated Steel in accordance with Speci-fication A 491.6.1.2.3 Zinc-5% Aluminum-Mischmetal Alloy-Coated Steelin accordance with Specification F 1345,

25、Class 2.6.1.2.4 Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) and other OrganicPolymer-Coated Steel in accordance with Specification F 668,Class 2b. Select the color as listed in Specification F 934.6.2 Fence Framework:6.2.1 Line Posts:Fences designed to provide increased security levels aregenerally of greater heights

26、and utilize smaller mesh sizes, bothof these factors result in added wind load resistance. Line postselection and the spacing of the posts should be designed tomeet the anticipated wind loads based on the site geographicallocation and weather conditions. Increased post sizes or spe-cific post spacin

27、g may be required to compensate for windloading or increased security. The Chain Link Fence Manufac-turers Institutes, Guide for the Selection of Line Posts andtheir Spacing, WLG 2445, guides the designer through theprocess to select the post size and post spacing. After calcu-lating the post spacin

28、g and post dimensions select the postspecification and protective coating from Specification F 1043,Table 3, Heavy Industrial Fence Framework or SpecificationF 1083.6.2.1.1 Terminal Posts:(end, corner, or pull) are to be in accordance with Specifi-cation F 1043, Table 3, Heavy Industrial Fence Frame
