Terminology3.1 Definitions of Terms Specific to This Standard:3.1.1 airsoft gun, ncommonly referred to as airsoft gun,air soft gun, or soft air gun, or any combination thereof, or alow energy air gun (LEAG), refers to a device specificallydesigned to expel a projectile as described in S

Significance and Use4.1 This specification addresses the appropriate warningsand instructions that are to be provided for literature, labels,packages, and procedures for safe use of airsoft guns.5. Conformance5.1 Airsoft guns shall not, either by label or other means,in
10、dicate conformance with this specification unless they con-form with the applicable requirements contained herein.6. General Requirements6.1 LiteratureLiterature shall be provided with each air-soft gun and shall include, as applicable, the instructions andcautionary statements specified in Section
11、7.6.2 PackagingPackaging shall be labeled in a prominentand conspicuous manner in accordance with the provisions ofSection 7.7. Instructions, Labeling, and Marking7.1 GeneralPackaging and literature for airsoft guns withenergy under two joule shall contain a cautionary statement asprescribed in this
12、 specification.7.2 Safety disclaimers shall not be used which dilute ornegate the effectiveness of the warnings provided for in theseinstructions, labeling, and marking requirements.7.3 Packaging:7.3.1 The packaging for airsoft guns with energy under twojoule shall contain a cautionary statement. 44、r name that will allow properidentification of the airsoft gun by the user; and the caliber ofprojectile.7.5 Literature Accompanying Airsoft Guns:7.5.1 The instructions and warnings communicating to theuser the information included in this section shall be providedas a leaflet or brochure packed wit
45、h the airsoft gun, or attachedto the airsoft gun.7.5.1.1 An appropriate cautionary statement as noted in7.3.3 or 7.3.10 shall be placed prominently in the literature orattached to the airsoft gun. Prominence of the statement shallbe achieved by placement within the borders of a rectangle andby use o
46、f a suitable contrasting background. The statementmay be in a combination of upper and lower case letters of asize bearing a reasonable relationship to the other type on theliterature or tag, but no less than 8-point type. The signal wordshall be at least 50 % larger than the other words in theliter
47、ature or tag.7.5.1.2 Instructions shall properly instruct or inform the userabout the following:(1) Handle and operate the airsoft gun safely.(2) Select safe and proper targets.(3) Care for and maintain the gun properly.(4) Store the gun unloaded in a safe and proper manner, andcheck to see that the
48、 gun is unloaded when removed fromstorage or received from another person.(5) Treat every airsoft gun as if it were loaded.(6) Always wear eye protection designed for airsoft gunswhen handling or shooting or in range of any airsoft gun, andwear them over prescription glasses.(7) Keep your finger off
49、 the trigger until ready to shoot.(8) Never point the airsoft gun at anything you do not wishto shoot.(9) Keep the airsoft gun on safe until ready to shoot.(10) Avoid ricochet. Never shoot at a hard or flat surface orat water.(11) Backstops should be inspected for wear before andafter each use. Discontinue use if the backstop surface showssigns of failure. Since backstop surfaces eventually fail, alwaysplace the backstop in a location that will be safe should thebackstop fail. Discontinue the use of a backstop if the projectilerebounds or ricochets.(12) Perform routi
