20、ial shall not be introduced at aratio exceeding 25 %.5.2 Potable Water RequirementsProducts intended for thetransport of potable water shall be evaluated, tested andcertified for conformance with NSF/ANSI Standard No. 61 orthe health effects portion of NSF/ANSI Standard No. 14 by anacceptable certif
21、ying organization when required by the regu-latory authority having jurisdiction.5.3 Crimp RingsCrimp rings shall be manufactured andmarked in accordance with the requirements of SpecificationF1807.6. Performance Requirements7.1 GeneralAll performance tests shall be performed onassemblies of fittings, crimp rings, and PEX tubing. Fittingsand crimp rings shall m
23、eet the material and dimensionalrequirements of this standard. PEX tubing shall meet therequirements of Specification F876. Assembly of test speci-mens shall be in accordance with Section 10. Dimensions8.1 Dimensions and TolerancesThe dimensions and tol-erances of fittings shall be as shown in Fig. 1, when measuredin accordance with 11.18.1.1 AlignmentThe maximum angular variat

Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance9.1 The sealing surfaces of the insert shall be smooth andfree of foreign material. The fitting walls shall be free ofcracks, ho
28、les, blisters, voids, foreign inclusions, or otherdefects that are visible to the unaided eye and that affect thewall integrity.9.2 Except for the insert, the molded part shall be free offlash in excess of 0.005 in. (0.13 mm). Flash, mismatch, andwitness mark requirements for the insert shall be in
29、accordancewith Fig. 1.10. Assembly10.1 Crimp JointsInsert fittings shall be joined to PEXtubing by the compression of a copper crimp ring around theouter circumference of the tubing forcing the tubing materialinto annular spaces formed by ribs on the fitting. Insert fittingsand crimp rings shall mee
30、t the dimensional and materialrequirements of this standard. PEX tubing shall meet therequirements of Specifications F876. The dimensions andout-of-roundness of the crimp ring after it has been crimpedshall be in accordance with Table 1.10.1.1 Crimping ProcedureTo affix the insert fitting to thetubi
31、ng with the crimp ring, the crimping procedure shall be asfollows: slide the crimp ring onto the tubing, insert the ribbedend of the fitting into the end of the tubing until the tubingcontacts the shoulder of the fitting or tube stop. The crimp ringshall then be positioned on the tubing so the edge
32、of the crimpring contacts the shoulder of the fitting or tube stop. The jawsof the crimping tool shall be centered over the crimp ring andthe tool shall be held so that the crimping jaws are approxi-mately perpendicular to the axis of the barb. The jaws of thecrimping tool shall be closed around the
33、 crimp ring, compress-ing the crimp ring onto the tubing. The crimp ring shall not becrimped more than once. Each crimp shall be checked todetermine conformance to the after crimped dimensionalrequirements of Table 1.F2735 09 (2016)211. Test Methods11.1 DimensionsAny randomly selected fitting or fit
34、tingsand crimp ring or crimp rings shall be used to determinedimensions. Measurements shall be made in accordance withTest Method D2122. Determine the diameters by makingmeasurements at four locations spaced at approximately 45apart around the circumference.12. Molded Part Properties Test Methods12.
35、1 Insert Crush TestUnder ambient conditions, test sixfittings of each size in accordance with 12.1.1.12.1.1 ProcedureUsing a bench vise or other suitablecompression device, place the insert of the fitting between thejaws of the vise. Close the jaws of the vise deforming the insertuntil the opposing
36、inside walls of the insert touch. The insertshall not crack, split, or shatter, see Fig. 3. GO/NO-GO CRIMP GAUGEX1.1 This appendix provides dimensions for gages to checkthe after-crimped dimensions of the three sizes of crimpconnections governed by this standard. This information hasbeen taken from gages in current production at the time o
48、f thewriting of this standard. Gages shown here provide only areference for the maximum and minimum diameters of thecrimped ring and do not provide a check for the out-of-rounddimension. Additionally, calipers or micrometers may also beused.X1.2 Crimp gages manufactured according to the dimen-sions
49、shown in Fig. X1.1 will ensure that crimps checked withthese gages will not be larger or smaller than those allowed bythis standard.X1.3 Use of the Crimp GO/NO-GO GageSlide thecorrect size GO section of the gage over the crimped ring in atleast two places and attempt to slide the NO-GO section of thegage over the crimped ring in at least two places (see NoteX1.1).
