Ma
17、terials4.1 PolypropylenePolypropylene compounds used in themanufacture of corrugated single wall and double wall pipeshall have the minimum properties as shown in Table 1.Polypropylene compounds shall be comprised of the basepolypropylene virgin material and all additives, colorants, UVinhibitors, a
18、nd stabilizers. Polypropylene compounds can bepre-compounded or made in-situ during pipe extrusion bycombining natural polypropylene material with a color master-batch or other additives, or both.4.2 Color and Ultraviolet (UV) Stabilization The pipeshall be colored or black. Black polypropylene comp
19、oundsshall have between 2.0 and 3.0 percent carbon black. Coloredpolypropylene compounds shall be protected from Ultraviolet(UV) degradation with UV stabilizers. Colored polypropylenecompounds shall contain sufficient UV protection to allow pipemade according to this standard to be stored outdoors f
20、or atleast two years from the date of manufacture without degrada-tion of the stated properties.4.3 Rework MaterialClean polypropylene rework mate-rial, generated from the manufacturers own production of theproduct and having the same minimum physical properties,may be used by the manufacturer, prov
21、ided that the pipeproduced meets all the requirements of this specification.4.4 Rubber MaterialsRubber compounds used in themanufacture of sealing rings or gaskets shall meet the require-ments of Specification F477.4.5 LubricantThe lubricant used for assembly of gasketedjoints shall have no detrimen
22、tal effect on the gasket or on thepipe.5. Joining System5.1 Bell and Spigot Joint:5.1.1 The pipe ends shall consist of integrally formed belland spigot designed to accommodate a gasket, which whenassembled forms a watertight seal by the radial compression ofthe gasket between the spigot and the bell
23、 ends.5.1.2 The joint shall be designed to avoid displacement ofthe gasket when it is assembled in accordance with themanufacturers recommendations.5.1.3 The assembly of the joint shall be in accordance withthe manufacturers recommendations.5.2 Other Joining SystemsWhere these connections arenot pra
24、ctical or undesirable because of space, layout, or otherrequirements, joining methods such as external snap couplers,split couplers, or other joining methods that are equallyeffective are to be used in accordance with the manufacturersrecommendations.6. Requirements6.1 WorkmanshipThe pipe and fittin
25、gs shall be homoge-neous throughout and be as uniform as commercially practicalin color, opacity, and density. The pipe wall shall be free ofcracks, holes, blisters, voids, foreign inclusions or other defectsthat are visible to the naked eye and that may affect the wallintegrity. The ends shall be c
26、ut cleanly and squarely. Holesdeliberately placed in perforated pipe are acceptable.6.2 Pipe Dimensions:6.2.1 Nominal Size The nominal size for pipe and fittingsshall be as shown in Table 2 and are based on the insidediameter of the pipe.6.2.2 Inside DiameterMeasure the inside diameter inaccordance
27、with Test Method D2122. The tolerances are shownin Table 2, when measured in accordance with 8.3, and shall beapplied to the stated manufacturers supplied diameter. 29、with 8.4.6.2.4 Pipe Dimensions shall comply with Table 2, whenmeasured in accordance with Test Method D2122.6.2.5 Laying Length The pipe may be sold in any layinglength agreeable to the user. Laying length shall not be lessthan 99% of the stated quantity, when measured in accordancewith 8.3 at 73F +
30、 3.6F (23C + 2C).6.2.6 Pipe StiffnessThe pipe shall have a minimum pipestiffness of 46 psi (320 KPa) at 5% deflection, when tested inaccordance with 8.6.6.2.7 Impact Pipe specimens shall be tested in accordancewith 8.7. The test specimens, when examined under normallight and the unaided eye, shall s
31、how no splitting or cracking.The minimum pipe impact strength at 73F (23C) shall be 140ft-lbf (189 J).6.2.8 FlatteningThere shall be no evidence of splitting,cracking, breaking, or separation of the ribs, seams, or corru-gations, when pipe is tested in accordance with 8.8. Themaximum load point shal
32、l not be at less than 20% deflectionand inspection for splitting, cracking, or delamination shallcontinue to the 40% deflection limit.6.3 Fittings and Joining System Requirements:6.3.1 The fittings shall not reduce or impair the overallintegrity or function of the pipeline. only fittings made to thi
33、sspecification and couplers supplied or recommended by thepipe manufacturer shall be used. Fittings fabricated from pipemanufactured according to this standard shall meet the samematerial requirements as the pipe. The outside diameters andthe corrugation pitch of products manufactured to this specif
34、i-cation are not specified; thus, compatibility between pipe andfittings made to this specification by different manufacturersshall be verified to meet the requirements of 6.3.1 and 6.3.2.6.3.2 Joint Tightness Gasketed bell and spigot type joints,when utilized with pipe joints or with fittings, shal
35、l meet therequirements of Specification D3212.6.3.3 Joints made with couplers or other joining methods,installed in accordance with the manufacturers instructions,shall meet the requirements of Specification D3212.NOTE 1Fittings may be fabricated from the pipe by a variety ofprocesses including hot
36、plate welding, spin welding or other processes.6.4 Long Term Strength:6.4.1 Creep Rupture StrengthSpecimens fabricated in thesame manner and composed of the same materials as thefinished pipe shall have a 50-year creep rupture tensile strengthat 73F (23C) of not less than 1000 psi (7 MPa), whendeter
37、mined in accordance with 8.11.6.4.2 Creep Modulus Specimens fabricated in the samemanner and composed of the same materials as the finishedpipe shall have a 50-year tensile creep modulus at 73F (23C)at a stress level of 500 psi (3.5 MPa) of not less than 27,000 psi(186 MPa). The creep modulus shall
38、be determined in accor-dance with 8.12.NOTE 2The 50-year creep rupture strength and 50-year creep modu-lus values, determined by the test methods in 8.11 and 8.12, are used todefine the slope of the logarithmic regression curves to describe therequired material properties sampled from the product. Sampling and Retest7.1 SamplingSamples of pipe and fittings sufficient todetermine conformance with this specification shall be taken atrandom by the testing agency. Where a test report is requestedfor a customer order, the samples shall be take
40、n from theproduction lot (as indicated by the manufacturers productioncode) representing the product to be shipped on the order.7.2 Retest and RejectionRetesting in the event of a testfailure shall be conducted on samples from the failed lot onlyunder an agreement between purchaser and seller. There
41、 shallbe no changes to the test procedures or the requirements.8.
