Summary of Test Methods4.1 Force ReductionTest Method F2569 provides a
8、non-destructive means for evaluating the force reduction propertiesof the surface in both laboratory and field settings. ForceReduction is a characteristic of sports surfaces indicating thedegree of force attenuation provided or caused by the surfacein certain movement situations. It is principally
9、related to thegive of the surface upon impact. The higher the force reduc-tion, the greater the absorptive effect. The referenced testmethod is more closely associated with impacts generated bylower extremities, and is not an indication of the ability of thetest surface to prevent head trauma.4.2 Ba
10、ll ReboundEN 12235/C1 provides a non-destructive means that can be used both in the laboratory andin the field by which to identify the ball rebound height ofvarious balls used for indoor sports activities. Ball Rebound isan optional consideration for certain activities commonlyassociated with indoo
11、r sports surfaces. Ball rebound values onparticular surfaces indicate whether those floors provide suit-able or desired values in relation to the preferred activity in thesports hall.5. Specimen Preparation5.1 Testing in the laboratory shall be performed at atemperature of 23 6 2C (73 +4/3F) unless
12、otherwisespecified with test sections acclimated to the test temperaturefor no less than 24 h prior to evaluation.5.2 Field testing shall be conducted in the environmentalrange associated with the facility on ambient temperature of thesurface, and with air temperature and humidity measured 0.76m 6 1

Dimensions, Mass, and Permissible Variations6.1 Laboratory TestTest specimens shall be constructedper the system d
17、esign and include structural elements such asseams and end joints.6.1.1 Point-elastic floors require test specimens measuring aminimum of 1.0 by 1.0 m (3.25 by 3.25 ft). The test specimenshall be placed over a substrate typically required by themanufacturer. Non-free floating floors shall be soundly
18、 held tothe substrate (for example, double-sided tape).6.1.2 Combination-elastic floors require test specimens inwhich the upper elastic surface measures a minimum of 1.0 by1.0 m (3.25 by 3.25 ft) in combination with the lower sub-floorconstruction which measures a minimum of 3.5 by 3.5 m (11.5by 11
19、.5 ft). The test specimen shall be placed over a substratetypically required by the manufacturer. Non-free floating upperelastic surfaces shall be attached to the structural layer bytypical means according to the manufacturer or soundly held tothe structural layer by other suitable methods (for exam
20、ple,double-sided tape). Non-free floating lower sub-floors requireattachment to the substrate as per the manufacturers design.6.1.3 Area-elastic floors require test specimens measuring aminimum of 3.5 by 3.5 m (11.5 by 11.5 ft). Test specimen shallbe placed over a substrate typically required by the

Test Methods7.1 Force ReductionThe conditioned specimen shall betested according to Test Method F2569, using the specimenpreparat
22、ion, size, and test point parameters provided in thisstandard. The drop height shall be 55.0 mm as stated in the testmethod.7.2 Ball ReboundThe conditioned specimen shall betested according to EN 12235/C1, using the specimen prepa-ration, size, and test point parameters provided in this standard.7.2
23、.1 Specified BasketballFor indoor sports surfaceswhich are designed for or may be used for basketball, the ballused for the ball rebound testing shall be mens official NCAAsynthetic leather game ball.7.2.2 When conducting tests according to this procedurewith the specified basketball, the required b
24、all inflation may bedetermined by using either timed duration, or computed orvisual rebound height.7.2.2.1 When using timed duration, proper inflation requiresthat each reading results in a value between 0.938 and 0.960 sinclusive.7.2.2.2 When using computed or visual height, properinflation require
25、s that each reading results in a value to thebottom of the ball between 1.03 and 1.08 m (40.5 and 42.5 in.)inclusive.7.2.2.3 Perform a set of five repetitive drops on a rigidconcrete surface recording the readings between the first andsecond impacts. If the results of all five individual readings in
26、the set are within the prescribed range, the inflation pressure iscorrect. If any of the individual readings within the set do notfall in the specified range adjust air pressure in the ball andrepeat the set until all five readings in the set comply.8. Inspection8.1 Laboratory TestingPrior to labora
27、tory testing, a de-tailed illustration and written description of the surface to betested shall be developed. The material description shall beprovided by the client requesting the test and must include anillustration of the test sample as built, locating the variousconstruction components such as s
28、eams, sub-floor sections,resilient support locations, fastener applications, and otherelements requiring consideration by the laboratory for thor-ough evaluation. The description shall clearly identify compo-nents and materials such as density, grade, hardness, spacingand dimensions. Compare the ill
29、ustrated detail and materialdescription provided by the client with the physical test sampleto verify that it accurately represents the physical sample beingtested.8.2 Site TestingSite testing locations should include areasof suspected differing performance and constructions whensuch areas can be de
30、termined or suspected.9. Number of Tests9.1 A minimum of six test points each in a different locationshall be tested.9.1.1 Location of Test Points for Laboratory TestBased onthe inspection, select varying test points derived from construc-tion and location of sub-floor components. Selection of testp
31、oints is to include the areas of differing surface constructionelements with the minimum spacing between test points of 1006 6mm(46 0.236 in.).9.1.1.1 Point-Elastic SystemsTest point locations shall beselected with regard to projected variance based on suchelements as top seams or sub-seams, or both
32、, in multi-layeredmaterial as described in a detailed drawing.9.1.1.2 Combination-Elastic SystemsTest point locationsshall be selected with regard to projected variance based onapplicable seams of point-elastic layer(s) and applicable con-struction of structural layer and resilient support layer asd
33、escribed in detailed drawing.9.1.1.3 Area-Elastic SystemsTest point locations shall beselected with regard to projected variance based on design andcomponent locations described in a detailed drawing.9.1.2 Location of Test Points for Site TestBased on theinspection, a minimum of 6 test points shall
34、be randomlyselected and tested, however it is strongly recommended that ahigher number of test points be included to more accuratelyrepresent the installed flooring system. Site test points shallmaintain a minimum of 600 6 6 mm (24 6 0.236 in.) spacingbetween test points and should include locations
35、 in high useareas and locations in limited use areas, and areas of specificinterest, unless otherwise designated by the owner or client.9.1.3 Any deviations from test point selections herein shallbe stated with the reasons given in the report.F2772 09210. 36、according to Test MethodF2569, using the sample size and test point parameters pro-vided in this standard.10.2 Ball ReboundEvaluate according to EN 12235/C1using the sample size and test point parameters provided in thisstandard.11. Classification11.1 Force reduction performance or ball rebound comp
37、li-ance status, or both, of laboratory samples shall be determinedbased on the values designated in Table 1 and Table 2.11.1.1 Field test shall clearly indicate the average, andmaximum and minimum values for general comparison toperformance of laboratory samples.11.2 Force ReductionIn the case of fo
38、rce reduction twoparameters are required:11.2.1 Performance LevelFor laboratory samples the av-erage performance of all test points shall achieve a level asindicated in Table 1. If no performance level is met the resultstated in the report shall be “No Performance LevelAchieved”.11.2.2 UniformityLab
39、oratory samples shall be such thatthe force reduction value of every individual test point fallswithin a spread of 65.0 percentage points of the average of alltest point values. The report shall be marked “Non-Compliant”if any individual test point does not meet this requirement.11.3 Ball ReboundIn
40、the case of ball rebound two param-eters are required:11.3.1 Performance LevelFor laboratory samples the av-erage performance of all test points shall achieve a minimum of90 % as indicated in Table 2. If the performance level is notmet the result stated in the report shall be “Performance LevelNot A
