Scope1.1 This specification covers acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene(ABS) pipe produced by single extrusion in

Included are criteria for classifyingABS plasticpipe materials and ABS plastic pipe, a system of nomenclaturefor ABS plastic pipe, and requirements and test methods formaterials, workmanship, dimensions, su
4、stained pressure, burstpressure, and extrusion quality. Methods of marking are alsogiven.1.2 The products covered by this specification are intendedfor use with the distribution of pressurized liquids, which arechemically compatible with the piping materials. Consult withthe manufacturer and local b

Due to inherent hazards associated with testingcomponents and systems with compressed air or other com-pressed gases some manufacturers do not allow pneumatictesting of their products. 24、definedin Classification D3965.4.3 Hydrostatic Design Basis (HDB)This specificationcovers pipe made from material, which has been evaluated inaccordance with Test Method D2837 where a pressure testingis carried out in accordance with Test Method D1598 to findthe HDB value. The HDB shall be a minimum
25、 of 17.2 MPa.4.4 CompoundThe ABS plastic extrusion compound shallmeet the requirements of ABS Classes 42222, 20643, or 30444as described in Classification D3965.4.5 Rework MaterialThe manufacturers shall use onlytheir own clean rework pipe material and the pipe producedshall meet all the requirement

Pipe Classification5.1 GeneralThis specification covers ABS pipe producedby single extrusion.5.2 Standard Dimension Ratios (SDR)This specificationcovers ABS pipe in eight standard dimension ratios. These areSDR 9, 11, 13.5, 17, 21, 26, 32.5, and SDR 41. The pressurerating
27、is uniform for all nominal pipe sizes for a given ABSpipe material and SDR.6. Requirements6.1 WorkmanshipThe pipe shall be homogeneousthroughout and free of visible cracks, holes, foreign inclusions,or other defects. The pipe shall be as uniform as commerciallypracticable in color, opacity, density,
28、 and other physical prop-erties.6.2 Dimensions and Tolerances:6.2.1 Outside DiametersThe outside diameters and toler-ances and out-of-roundness shall be as shown in Table 1 whenmeasured in accordance with 7.4 and 7.4.1.6.2.2 Wall ThicknessThe wall thicknesses and tolerancesshall be as shown in Table

The central section is thatportion of pipe, which is at least one pipe diameter away froman end closure.7.4 Dimensions and TolerancesUse any length of pipe todetermine the dimensions. Measure in accordance with
44、 TestMethod D2122.7.4.1 Outside DiameterMeasure the outside diameter andout-of-roundness of the pipe in accordance with Test MethodD2122. The average outside diameter is the arithmetic averageof the maximum and minimum diameters at any cross sectionon the length of the pipe. The tolerances for out-o
45、f-roundnessshall apply only on pipe before shipment.7.4.2 Wall ThicknessMake micrometer measurements ofthe wall thickness in accordance with Test Method D2122 todetermine the maximum and minimum values. Measure thewall thickness to the nearest 0.02 mm.7.5 Sustained Pressure TestSelect the test speci
46、mens atrandom. Test individually with water at the stress levels,temperatures, and times given in Table 3, each specimen shallbe at least ten times the nominal diameter in length, but not lessthan 250 mm or more than 920 mm between end closures andshall bear the permanent marking on the pipe. Hold t
47、hepressure as closely as possible, but within 670 kPa. Conditionthe specimens at the test temperature to within 62C. Maintainthe test temperature at 20 6 2C. Test in accordance with ISO1167.7.6 Burst PressureFor each diameter, determine the mini-mum burst pressure with at least five specimens in acc
48、ordancewith ISO 1167. The time of testing each specimen shall bebetween 60 and 70 s. The average minimum burst pressureshall not be less than 3.2 times the pressure rating, PR.7.7 Impact ResistanceWhen tested in accordance withISO 3127 at 0C, pipe shall have a true impact rate (TIR) of notmore than
49、10 % when using the weights and heights given inTable 4.8. Retest and Rejection8.1 If the results of any test(s) do not meet the requirementsof this specification, the test(s) shall be conducted again onlyby agreement between the purchaser and the seller. Under suchagreement, minimum requirements shall not be lowered,changed, or modified, nor shall specification limits be changed.If upon retest, failure occurs, the quantity of product repre-sented by the test(s) does not meet the requirements of thisspecification.9.
