16、 notremovable by normal maintenance procedures.5.1.3.1 The clear specialty performance top layer mayconstitute part of the total thickness up to a maximum 0.002 in.(0.051 mm).5.2 Color and PatternThe color and pattern, as applicableshall be as specified in the contract or order (see 4.1).NOTE 1The c

17、olors and patterns that are available are indicated inindividual manufacturers current catalogs. As manufactured, colors varysomewhat in hue and shade.5.3 Through Pattern TileIn through pattern tile, either thepattern and colors on the surface of the tile extend entirelythrough the thickness of the

18、tile without significant change, orthe colors appearing on the surface shall extend throughout theentire thickness of the tile, although the appearance of thepattern created by these colors will change throughout thethickness.6. Mechanical Properties6.1 Indentation:6.1.1 When the tile is tested in a

19、ccordance with Test MethodF1914 per the test parameters listed in Table 1 for the F1066specification but at a conditioning and testing temperature of73.4F (23.0C), the indentation at the end of 1 min shall notexceed 0.012 in. (0.305 mm).6.1.2 When the tile is tested in accordance with Test MethodF19

20、14 per the test parameters listed in Table 1 for the F1066specification but at a conditioning and testing temperature of73.4F (23.0C), the indentation at the end of 10 min shall notexceed 0.015 in. (0.356 mm).6.2 Impact:6.2.1 When the tile is tested in accordance with Test MethodF1265, the tile shal

21、l not break or crack beyond the prescribedcircle of zinc oxide paste after 12 drops.6.2.2 For18-in. (3.175-mm) tile the 0.143-lb (0.065-kg)steel ball weight shall be dropped from a drop height of 20 in.(508 mm).7. Performance Requirements7.1 DeflectionThe tile, when tested in accordance withTest Met

22、hod F1304, shall deflect not less than 1.0 in. (25.4mm) both across and with the grain, without breaking.7.2 Dimensional Stability:7.2.1 When tested in accordance with Test Method F2199the linear dimensions shall not change more than 0.028 in.(0.71 mm) per linear foot.7.3 Resistance to Chemicals:7.3

23、.1 The chemical resistance of the tile shall be determinedin accordance with Test Method F925. Polyester compositionfloor tile shall have no more than a slight change in surfacedulling, surface attack, or staining when exposed to thefollowing chemicals:7.3.1.1 White vinegar (5 % acetic acid),7.3.1.2

24、 Rubbing alcohol (70 % isopropyl alcohol),7.3.1.3 White mineral oil (medicinal grade),7.3.1.4 Sodium hydroxide solution (5 % NaOH),7.3.1.5 Household ammonia solution (5 % NH4OH),7.3.1.6 Household bleach (5.25 % NaOCl),7.3.1.7 Olive oil (light),7.3.1.8 Kerosene (K1),7.3.1.9 Phenol (5 % active phenol)

25、.NOTE 2The basic chemicals are representative of those likely to befound in residential, commercial, and institutional use. Many proprietarycompounds contain one or more of these basic chemicals. Should theflooring for an unusual application need to be resistant to a specificchemical, this additiona

26、l requirement should become part of the procure-ment document.7.4 Resistance to HeatWhen tested in accordance withTest Method F1514, the color change of the polyester compo-sition floor tile shall have an average E not greater than 8.0after 7 days exposure to 158F (70C).7.5 Resistance to LightWhen t

27、ested in accordance withTest Method F1515, the color change of the polyester compo-sition floor tile shall have an average E not greater than 8.0after a 300h exposure.7.6 Static Load LimitWhen tested in accordance with TestMethod F970, with an applied load of 250 lb (113.4 kg), theresidual indentati

28、on shall not be greater than 0.005 in. (0.076mm).8. Dimensions and Permissible Variations8.1 Overall ThicknessUnless otherwise specified (see4.1.4), the tile shall be furnished in18-in. (3.175-mm) thick-ness. A tolerance of 60.005 in. (0.127 mm) shall be permittedwhen measured in accordance with Tes

29、t Method F386.8.2 SizeUnless otherwise specified (see 4.1.5), the tileshall be furnished in 12 by 12 in. (305 by 305 mm) and 12 by24 in. (305 by 610 mm). A tolerance of 60.016 in. (0.406 mm)per linear ft (305 mm) shall be permitted when measured inaccordance with Test Method F2055.8.3 SquarenessWhen

30、 tested in accordance with TestMethod F2055, the out-of-squareness of the tile shall notexceed 0.010 in. (0.254 mm).9. Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance9.1 The floor tile furnished in accordance with this specifi-cation shall be an acceptable match to approved samples inpattern, color, and surface

31、 appearance. The product shall befree of defects that adversely affect performance or appearance.Such defects include blemishes, spots, indentations, cracks,blisters, and breaks in corners or edges.10. Sampling10.1 Sampling for testing mechanical properties, perfor-mance requirements and dimensions

32、listed in Table A1.1 shallbe done in accordance with the provisions set forth in ANSI/F2982 132ASQC Z1.41993. The inspection level shall be special inspec-tion level S-1, as noted in Table I, and the acceptable qualitylevel (AQL) shall be 6.5 defects per hundred units as noted inTable II-A or as oth

33、erwise specified in 10.2 herein. The lot sizeshall be expressed in units. A unit represents a single,manufactured, inventoried, finished tile.10.2 Sampling for testing physical properties, mechanicalproperties, and performance requirements listed in Table A1.1shall be agreed upon by the purchaser an

34、d the manufacturer aspart of the procurement document.11. Inspection11.1 Inspection of the polyester composition floor tile fordefects that would adversely affect performance shall be donein accordance with the provisions set forth in ANSI/ASQCZ1.41993. The inspection level shall be level L-1, as no

35、ted inTable I, and the acceptable quality level (AQL) shall be 6.5defects per hundred units as noted in Table II-Aor as otherwisespecified in 11.2 herein. The lot size shall be expressed in units.A unit represents a single, manufactured, inventoried, finishedtile.11.2 Inspection of the polyester com

36、position floor tile fordefects that would adversely affect performance shall be agreedupon by the purchaser and the manufacturer as part of theprocurement document.12. Certification12.1 When specified in the purchase order or contract, amanufacturers certification and any other documents requiredto

37、substantiate certification shall be furnished to the purchaserthat the material was manufactured to meet this specification.13. Product Marking13.1 Unless otherwise specified in the purchase order orcontract, shipping containers shall be marked with the name ofthe material as defined by the contract

38、 or order under which theshipment is made, the size, thickness, the pattern number, thequantity contained therein and the name of the manufacturershall be as specified in 4.1.13.2 When product sample sets, sample set cover cards,marketing and technical literature reference this specification,the com

39、plete products classification information relative to thisspecification shall be included.14. Packaging and Packing14.1 The polyester composition floor tile shall be packagedin accordance with normal commercial practice and packed toensure acceptance by common carrier and to provide protectionagains
