1、Designation: F3101 15Standard Specification forUnsupervised Public Use Outdoor Fitness Equipment1This standard is issued under the fixed designation F3101; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of last revision.
2、A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon () indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.INTRODUCTIONThe goal of this specification is to promote proper design, manufacturing, installation, andoperational practices for unsupervised ou

The equipment specifications setforth in this standard are for equipment intended for use by individuals 13 and older.Adu

Like other physical activities, exercise involving outdoor fitness equipment, involves the riskof injury, particularly if the equipment is used improperly, not properly installed or not properlymaintained. In addition, users with physical limitations shou
7、ld be aware of their capabilities andlimitations in the use of this type of equipment and seek appropriate advice prior to using it. Certainphysical conditions or limitations may preclude some persons from using this equipment properly andwithout increasing the risk of serious injury. While the desi
8、gner, manufacturer, and owner cannotcontrol the public use of this unsupervised equipment they can address known causes of injuries to themost vulnerable users and unintended users-at-risk defined as those under the age of 13. Good designand best practice would dictate that these facilities are not
9、in physical proximity or physicallyseparated from playground for children because of hazardous conditions children cannot appreciate.1.
