、ection. These tests are intended to be used as a recommended set of minimum tests of levels two and three of the SS7 protocol. It is assumed that the two interconnecting networks may have some additional tests they may wish to perform during interconnection. In that case, these tests should be part
、of the bilateral agreements developed for SS7 network interconnection. 1.1 MTP Levels 2 and 3 Compatibility Testing Compatibility testing checks for the correct interworking of two SS7 implementations. The tests are written for the interconnecting of two given implementations. These tests will be pe
、rformed not only on new signaling points but may also be performed between already-connected signaling points. 1.2 Initial SS7 Interconnection The full test suite should be run between the two interconnecting companies for any interconnection configuration that was not previously tested. The configu
、ration is defined by both manufacturer model and software load of the interconnecting signaling network elements. Subsequent interconnections, using configurations previously tested by the two interconnecting companies, may be tested at their discretion. 1.3 Testing Environment The tests in this doc
、ument are Intrusive and Non-Intrusive Tests. These terms are defined as follows: Intrusive - The interconnecting circuit shall be interrupted and the testing unit inserted into the circuit to act as an emulator to the Signaling Point under test. Level 3 tests require a message generating device to c
、reate traffic, allowing protocol messages to be viewed for proper changeover, changeback, SIOS, FISU, etc. Intrusive Testing may impact a live working network. Therefore testing should be based on locally negotiated agreements. Non-Intrusive - The test unit shall be able to observe traffic, and/or m

GETS and WPS include the capability of coding the ISUP Calling Partys Category parameter with the NS/EP code point (11100010) and setting the SS7 MTP link level priority for IAM to 1. When performing MTP compatibility tests, SS7 MTP link level priority for IAM testing shou
