7、 (codes, specifications, recommended practices, methods, classifications, and guides) of the AmericanWelding Society (AWS) are voluntary consensus standards that have been developed in accordance with the rules of theAmerican National Standards Institute (ANSI). When AWS American National Standards

8、are either incorporated in, ormade part of, documents that are included in federal or state laws and regulations, or the regulations of other govern-mental bodies, their provisions carry the full legal authority of the statute. In such cases, any changes in those AWSstandards must be approved by the

Cutting NozzlesThis clause applies to all oxyfuel cutting nozzles used in hand held cutting torches, cutting attachments, and machinetorches.4.1 Marking. The marking shall be legible and durable. All nozzles shall be marked

29、 with the name, registered trade-mark, or identifying mark of the manufacturer, with the symbol identifying the fuel gas, the nozzle cutting capacity, andwith a code or part number to permit easy reference to the manufacturers operating data.4.1.1 Fuel Gas Designation. The following gas designations

30、 shall be used to identify the gas for which the nozzle isdesigned (see Table 1).For nozzles that are capable of being used with more than one fuel gas, the abbreviation for the applicable gases will bemarked. Example: PY or AH.4.1.2 Cutting Capacity. The nozzle shall be marked with the maximum cutt

31、ing capacity in millimeters. This ratingshould be the maximum material thickness that the nozzle will effectively cut under normal conditions, i.e., low carbonsteel, and at a speed that is realistic to the metal cutting process. This rating is the responsibility of the manufacturer toestablish. Exam

Themarkings must include the manufacturers identification and model number (part number) or code, e.g., CT 12-0,followed by the fuel gas identification and the

If necessary, more than one line may be used to mark the information on the nozzle.4.2 Safety and Health Requirements. The manufacturer shall make available the detailed instructions for the propersettings

35、of the cutting nozzles. This information must include the recommended pressure settings in kilopascals (kPa)and the flow rates in liters per minute (L/min) for the oxygen and fuel gas required. These settings should give the oper-ator acceptable performance under normal operating conditions.The manu

36、facturer shall make the safety information available for the proper use and operation of the cutting nozzle andrelated equipment used for oxyfuel cutting. This information should be in the form of instruction literature or imprintedon the product packaging.5. Welding NozzlesThis clause applies to al

37、l oxyfuel welding nozzles used with a welding torch for the purpose of welding metals.5.1 Marking. The marking shall be legible and durable. All nozzles or mixing sections shall be marked with the name,registered trademark, or identifying mark of the manufacturer, with the symbol identifying the fue

38、l gas, the weldingnozzle capacity, and with a code to permit easy reference to the manufacturers operating data.5.1.1 Fuel Gas Designation. The fuel gas shall be imprinted per the abbreviations in Table 1. When a nozzle may beused with multiple fuel gases, the abbreviations for all applicable gases

39、shall be marked on the nozzle. Example: AHor PY.5.1.2 Welding Capacity. The nozzle or mixing section shall be marked with the maximum welding capacity in milli-meters. This rating should be the maximum material thickness that the nozzle will effectively weld under practicalconditions. This rating is

40、 the responsibility of the manufacturer to establish Example: 6 mm.5.1.3 Marking Configuration. The style and location of the marking is left to the manufacturer to establish. Themarking must include the manufacturers identification and model number (part number) or code, e.g., WT208, followedby the

41、 fuel gas identification and then the maximum welding capacity of the nozzle, e.g. A 6 mm. Example: Acme Mfg.WT 208 A 6 mm.The mixing section that is used with the welding nozzle shall be marked with the manufacturers identification, modelnumber (part number) or code, and the fuel gas for which it i

42、s designed. It may be necessary to use more than one line tomark this information on the nozzle and/or mixing section.5.2 Safety and Health Requirements. The manufacturer shall make available detailed instructions for the proper set-tings of the welding nozzles. This information must include the rec

43、ommended pressure settings in kilopascals (kPa) andthe flow rates in liters per minute (L/min) for the oxygen and fuel gas required. Heating/Brazing NozzlesThis clause applies to all oxyfuel heating and brazing nozzles used with welding to

45、rches for the purpose of heating andbrazing metals.6.1 Marking. The marking shall be legible and durable. All nozzles or mixing sections shall be marked with the name,registered trademark or identifying mark of the manufacturer, with the symbol identifying the fuel gas, the liters perminute (L/min)

46、of gas required, and with a code or part number to permit easy reference to the manufacturers operatingdata.AWS C4.5M:201246.1.1 Fuel Gas Designation. The fuel gas will be imprinted per the abbreviations in Table 1. When a nozzle may beused with multiple fuel gases, the abbreviations for all applica

47、ble gases shall be marked on the nozzle. Example: AH orPY.6.1.2 Heating Capacity. The nozzle shall be marked with the nominal design flow rate in liters per minute (L/min)for the fuel gas that is required for the nozzle to perform to its designed capabilities. This rating will be established by them

48、anufacturer at the recommended settings for the given nozzle under normal operating conditions. Example: 236 L/min.6.1.3 Marking Configuration. The style and location of the marking is left to the manufacturer to establish. Themarking must include the manufacturers identification and model number (p

49、art number) or code, e.g., HT610, followedby the fuel gas identification and then the maximum fuel gas consumption rate, e.g., A 42 L/min. Example: Acme Mfg.HT610 A 42 L/min.The mixing section that is used with the heating or brazing nozzle shall be marked with the manufacturers identification,model number (part number) or code, and the fuel gas for which it is designed. In the case where the nozzle is remov-able, the marking must be applied to the removable portion of the nozzle, i.e., the head of the heating/brazing nozzle. Ifnecessary, this information may be applied in more than
