7、es) of the AmericanWelding Society (AWS) are voluntary consensus standards that are developed through a consensus standards developmentprocess that brings together volunteers representing varied viewpoints and interests to achieve consensus. While theAmerican Welding Society administers the process

8、and establishes rules to promote fairness in the development ofconsensus, it does not independently test, evaluate, or verify the accuracy of any information or the soundness of anyjudgments contained in its standards. Further, given the rapid changes in the field, AWS cannot warrant that thecertifi

Education and Experience Requirements5.1 The education and experience requirements for Certi-fied Welding Sales Represe

24、ntatives (CWSR) are listed inClause 6 of AWS B5.14, Specification for the Qualifica-tion of Welding Sales Representatives.5.2 The AWS Certification Department shall reviewand/or verify the education and experience of each appli-cant based on the information submitted with the appli-cation. If the ap

25、plication is incomplete or the applicantdoes not meet the education and experience criteria, theapplicant shall be notified that he/she does not qualify totake the examination.6. Examination Requirements6.1 Applicants shall meet the applicable examinationrequirements to be considered for certificati

26、on as anAWS Certified Welding Sales Representative (CWSR).6.1.1 Certified welding sales representative candi-dates shall pass (with a minimum of 70% correctanswers) the CWSR written examination on the subjectslisted in Clause 7 of AWS B5.14, Specification for theQualification of Welding Sales Repres

27、entatives. Subjectweights are listed in 6.2.6.1.2 The examination shall consist of a closed bookexamination consisting of a minimum of 50 multiple-choice questions. Two hours of time are allowed to com-plete the examination.6.2 The weighting for the subject areas specified inClause 7 of AWS B5.14, S

28、pecification for the Qualifica-tion of Welding Sales Representatives, are listed below,and are expressed in terms of approximate percentage ofquestions used on the written examination.(1) Gas metal arc welding (GMAW)9%(2) Gas tungsten arc welding9%(3) Flux cored arc welding9%(4) Shielded metal arc w

Certification7.1 The American Welding Society shall issue to eachCWSR applicant who meets all requirements of this stan-dard

31、 a serialized certificate and wallet card stating theapplicant has met the AWS certification requirements.The initial period of certification shall be valid for three(3) years.7.2 Certification becomes effective on the first day of themonth following the date of the examination, and expireson the fi

32、rst day of that month, 3 years later. For purposesof renewal and recertification, an expiration grace periodof 30 days exists from the expiration date.8. Revocation8.1 The Certification Committee shall have the power tosuspend, refuse the renewal of, or revoke the CWSRcertification for misrepresenta

33、tion of facts regardingpersonal qualification and status relating to certificationas a welding sales representative whether such misrepre-sentation was made at the time of application or onsubsequent applications or renewals.8.2 The Committee may apply to any court of competentjurisdiction for furth

34、er enforcement of its administrativedecisions and rulings.9. ReinstatementReinstatement of a revoked certificate shall be allowedwith no penalty or prejudice to the individual, providedthe cause for such revocation has been rectified to theCommittees satisfaction.AWS QC14:2009310. Renewal10.1 The pe

35、riod of validity for the AWS CWSR creden-tials is three (3) years.10.2 Prior to the end of three years, certificate holders arerequired to renew the certification if they wish to main-tain their CWSR credentials. Renewal requires writtendocumentation to support evidence of continued activityin the o

36、ccupational position of welding sales representa-tive. If the certification is allowed to lapse beyond thegrace period, renewal is not permitted; a new applicationfor certification shall be submitted, and the educationaland examination requirements of Clause 5 and 6.1 shallbe met.11. Recertification

37、11.1 After two (2) consecutive renewals total of nine (9)years of continuous certification, the certificate holder isrequired to recertify to maintain CWSR credentials bymeeting the requirements of 11.1.1 and 11.1.2.11.1.1 Documentation to support evidence of contin-ued activity in the occupational

38、position of welding salesrepresentative shall be provided.11.1.2 The certificate holder shall successfully passthe CWSR written examinations as defined in 6.1 or beexempt from the exam by applying 11.2.11.2 As an alternative to 11.1.2, the certificate holdermay demonstrate continued education in sub

39、ject areasidentified in Clause 7 of AWS B5.14 equivalent to 80professional development hours (PDH) over the nine (9)year period of certification with 20 PDH being com-pleted in the immediate three (3) year period precedingthe 9-year recertification.12. Responsibility12.1 The responsibility for the m

40、aintenance (renewal andrecertification) of AWS certification is solely with thecertificate holder. Failure to maintain a current address1with the AWS Certification Department and subsequentfailure of notification shall not be considered adequatejustification to allow an extension of the certificatio

41、nvalidity date.12.2 As a courtesy, the AWS Certification Departmentwill attempt to notify each CWSR of the expiration of thecertification and the requirements of renewal or recertifi-cation. Notices shall be mailed approximately 90 days inadvance of the expiration date of the certification.1NOTIFICA

42、TION OF ADDRESS CHANGE(S) TO AWS:Notify the AWS Certification Department directly as WeldingJournal subscription or AWS membership activity does notautomatically notify the AWS Certification Department. It isthe responsibility of the CWSR to maintain an accurateaddress with the AWS Certification Dep
