7、2-1999 National foreword This Part of BS1127 has been prepared under the direction of the Machine, Engineers and Hand Tools Standards Policy Committee. It is identical with ISO7226:1988 “Hexagonal dienuts” published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). This Part of BS1127 tog

8、ether with Parts1,2,3 and4 supersedes BS1127:1974 which is withdrawn. BS1127 comprises the following Parts. Part1: Specification for hand- and machine-operated circular screwing dies and hand-operated die stocks; Part2: Specification for hand- and machine-operated circular screwing dies for taper pi

9、pe threads; R series; Part3: Specification for hand- and machine-operated circular screwing dies for parallel pipe threads; G series; Part4: Terminology for circular screwing dies; Part5: Specification for dimensions of hexagonal dienuts. BS1127 was first published in1943 as a war emergency standard

10、 and revised in1950 to include hexagonal dienuts and again in1974 to incorporate the change from inch to metric dimensions. The purpose of this present revision is to take account of changes made to related ISO standards since1974 and the requirement of the United Kingdom as a CEN member to give Eur

11、opean Standards EN22568, EN24230, EN24231 and EN25968 the status of national standards. ISO7726:1988, which was not adopted by CEN, is included for completeness of the screwing die series of standards. For certain sizes of these threads, it is convenient for some purposes to use hexagonal dienuts instead of circular d

18、ies and, for purposes connected with their manufacture and use, it is desirable that certain dimensions of these dienuts should be standardized. 1 Scope and field of application This International Standard specifies the general dimensions of hexagonal dienuts for certain sizes of ISO metric threads

19、(coarse and fine pitch series see ISO68 and ISO261), ISO inch threads (UNCand UNF series see ISO68 and ISO263), and pipe threads (G and R series see ISO7-1 and ISO228-1), as well as the non-preferred thread series BSW, BSF and BA. 2 References ISO7-1, Pipe threads where pressure-tight joints are mad

23、ified in ISO2568. Dienuts having dimensions in accordance with those given in Table 2 shall be marked with the letter R immediately followed by the designation of the thread. Example: A hexagonal dienut for R series pipe threads with designation1/8 shall be marked as follows: R1/8 Where tools comply

24、 in all respects with the relevant International Standards, the symbol ISO may be appended to the mark at the discretion of the manufacturer.
