、s on flange facings Except for ring-joint facings, the face-to-face dimension is the distance between the faces of the connecting end-flanges upon which the gaskets are actually compressed, i.e.,the contact surfaces. Valves with flanges complying with BS10, Table D to Table P, may be plain-faced or

、they may have a 1 / 16in. raised face which is included in the face-to-face dimension. Valves with flanges complying with BS10, Table R, may have a 1 / 16in. raised face which is included in the face-to-face dimension or they may be plain-faced. Valves with flanges complying with Class125 (seeBS5150

、, Table7) have plain faces. Valves with flanges complying with BS1560, Classes150 and300, have a 1 / 16in. raised face which is included in the face-to-face dimension. Valves with flanges complying with BS1560, Class600, have a ! in. raised face which is included in the face-to-face dimension. When

、it is desired to provide for a special facing, e.g.,a ring-joint facing on a valve with flanges complying with BS1560, Class600, twice the ! in. raised-face dimension is subtracted from the face-to-face dimension given in Table 1 to obtain the basic flanged-edge-to-flange-edge dimension. Then twice

、the height of the special facing is added to the basic flange-edge-to-flange-edge dimension to determine the face-to-face dimension for the new joint. However, when the special facing is applied to a valve with flanges complying with BS1560, Classes150 and300, having a 1 / 16in. raised face, no dedu

、ctions are made from the dimensions, given in Table 1 before making the additions for the special facing. Thus for right-joint facing, twice the depth of the groove is added to the basic flange-edge-to-flange-edge dimension to obtain the face-to-face dimension shown in Table 2. For ring-joint facing

、s complying with BS1560, the face-to-face dimensions are the end-to-end dimensions. These dimensions, given in Table 2, include the depth of groove added to the basic flange-edge dimension.BS1655:1950 4 BSI 07-1999 Figure 1 End flange facingsBS1655:1950 BSI 07-1999 British Standards The following ar
