14、S2007:1975 BSI 12-1999 1 1 Scope This BritishStandard specifies accuracy requirements for serrated circular gear shaving cutters having single or double cutting flanks designed for the production of crowned or uncrowned external and internal gears. It is applicable to new or reground cutters in the
15、range1 to8 normal metric module. It also gives a recommended bore size. 2 References The title of the BritishStandard referred to in this standard is given on the inside back cover. 3 Terminology The general terms used in this standard, common to gears and gear-forming tools, are as given in BS2519
16、1) . 4 Bore diameter The recommended bore size is based on established practice and is63.5mm for cutters of100mm diameter and over. For exceptionally large or small size cutters, the bore diameter shall be agreed between the purchaser and the manufacturer. The bearing length shall be at least30% of
17、the overall width of the cutter. The variation from the design bore diameter over the bearing length, including all departures from roundness and parallelism, shall lie within the following limits: mm for bores not exceeding65mm diameter. 5 End faces Both end faces shall have a datum area to facilit
18、ate measurement and subsequent setting up on the gear shaving machine (seeFigure 1). 6 Accuracy requirements 6.1 Tolerances. Tolerances shall comply with the values given in Table 1, which sets out the tests to be applied. 6.2 Tooth helix and tooth profile. The design tooth helix and tooth profile o
19、f the cutter may be the subject of agreement between the purchaser and the manufacturer. The tolerances for profile in Table 1, test7 apply to cutters used for shaving external-shouldered gears and shall be maintained for the full face width, otherwise the tolerance relates only to the central30% po

NOTEThe tooth helix and tooth profile tolerances in Table 1 are given for guidance only because some cutters will require tolerancing to suit specific requirements. 7 Marking The following information shall be marked on ge

The makers identification mark or number, material, lead, base helix angle, crossed axis angle and cutter range may be added if desired. 8 Ordering instructions It is recommended that the purchaser should state: a) the number of this Br
