Subsequent amendments to, or revisions of, any of these publications apply to this method only when incorporated in it by updating or revision. 2.2 Informative refer

Editions of these publications current at the time of issue of this standard are listed on the inside back cover, but reference should be made to the latest editions. 3 Principle The washed and dried test pi

The number of cycles required to cause physical damage to the print on the test piece is recorded. 4 Apparatus The apparatus consists of an abrading member A, a means of moving a test piece to and fro in a straight line while it is

15、in contact with the abrading member, and a glass plate B of suitable dimensions, on which the test piece rests. The test piece is attached to the glass plate with clips or double sided tape. The essential details are shown in Figure 1. The length of the stroke moving the test piece is100mm. The appa

The abrading member A is a brass peg covered with an abrading fabric (see clause5), as detailed in Figure 2, and is firmly secured to the arm of the apparatus with its centre line in right angles to t

To avoid uneven wear of the test specimen and abradant, it is important that the base of the brass peg and the surface of the glass plate are parallel an

18、d that the periphery of the base edge of the brass peg contains no burrs. NOTEParallelism of the surfaces can be ensured, after any necessary adjustments, by operating the apparatus with a suitable grade of emery cloth mounted in the test specimen position until the base of the brass peg is uniforml

Cut each test piece such that a portion of the printed design lies in the path of the abrading member. Use three test pieces for material on whic

For material with printed matter of more than one colour, prepare sufficient test pieces so that there are three test pieces for each colour or combination of print. Condition each test piece at 23 C 2 C and (50 5)% r.h. for at least 4h before testin

23、g. 8 Procedure Mount the test piece on the glass plate using either clips or double sided tape to clamp it firmly to the glass, so that there is no buckling or wrinkling of the test piece during the test. 1) For information on the availability of the abrading fabric, write to Customer Services, Info
