It supersedes BS2922-1:1980, which is withdrawn, and was prepared under the direc

This revision specifies distilled or deionized water in place of drinking water, describes the method of immersion for corrugated fibreboard, details a formula for the expression of the results and includes a number of editorial changes. Some terminology and certain conventions are not identical with those used in British Standards; attention is drawn especially to the following. The comma has been used

11、 as a decimal marker. In British Standards it is current practice to use a full point on the baseline as the decimal marker. Wherever the words “International Standard” appear, referring to this standard, they should be read as “British Standard”. Additional information. When carrying out this test

12、on material which has been specially treated (for example with urea-formaldehyde) it is essential that care be taken to ensure that sufficient time has elapsed after treatment for the wet strength to be fully developed before soaking the test pieces. If necessary the wet strength development can be

23、2758 or ISO2759. Ten test pieces are normally required for the wet bursting test; if multiple bursting is necessary (see8.3), a larger number of test pieces is required. A duplicate set shall be prepared for the dry bursting test, if required. 7.2 Conditioning For wet testing, conditioning is not ge
