8、06-1999 BS 2F 142:1999 Foreword This British Standard has been prepared by Technical Committee ACE/54 and is a revision of BS F 142 : 1995 which is superseded and withdrawn. This revision corrects errors in the standard and relaxes the type testing intervals, which were found in practice to be unnec

9、essarily stringent. This British Standard is one of a series for textiles of a quality suitable for aerospace purposes. During its preparation the applicable basic quality requirements contained in BS F 100 were included in the text. This standard specifies coated fabrics for use in the manufacture

10、of inflatable life saving equipment. The fabric designations specified in this standard are based on the user firm specifications RFD 572, BASE 8925, BASE 8926, BASE 8982, IAC/S 1336 and IAC/S 1344. A British Standard does not purport to include all the necessary provisions of a contract. Users of B

11、ritish Standards are responsible for their correct application. Compliance with a British Standard does not of itself confer immunity from legal obligations. 13、r for use in the manufacture of aerospace items, which may include items of inflatable life saving equipment. All fabrics are intended primarily for assembly by high-frequency welding techniques. In addition, all fabrics are intended to be capable of assembly by solvent based polychloroprene or poly

14、urethane adhesives. NOTE 1 The information to be supplied by the purchaser in the enquiry or order is listed in clause 3. NOTE 2 The latest revision of an Aerospace Series standard is indicated by a prefix number. In addition to the definitive requirements, this standard also requires the items deta

For compliance with the standard both the definitive requ

21、irements specified throughout the standard and the following documented items shall be satisfied: a) if required dyed, the colour (see 5.1.1); b) pigmentation of coating (see 5.2.1); c) the width required (see 5.3.1); d) the packaging requirements (see 6.1); e) the fabric designation required, toget

22、her with the number of this British Standard, i.e. BS 2F 142:1999 (see 7.1). 4 General requirements 4.1 In addition to the requirements given in clauses 3 to 7 of this standard, the sections of BS F 100 given in Table 1 shall apply. 4.2 Unless otherwise specified in this standard, test requirements

23、shall be determined in accordance with BS F 100. In the event of a dispute, the methods of test, performance standards, inspection and acceptance limits specified in this standard shall take precedence over those of BS F 100. 4.3 Qualification tests (see Table 2) shall be performed on initial produc

24、tion of coated fabric and thereafter when any change occurs to the material, finishing treatments or to the composition of the coating compound. 4.4 A test report detailing the results of type tests (see Table 4) shall be provided by the supplier with the first delivery batch. Type tests shall be re

25、peated at intervals not exceeding 20 000 m of fabric. 29、ract; test for water soluble chloride; test for water soluble sulfate. 5 Technical requirements 5.1 Uncoated textiles 5.1.1 The textile prior to coating shall be scoured, dyed and heat-set in accordance with the requirements of the specification shown in Table 3. NOTE The requirement for dyeing and

30、the colour required should be stated in the purchasers enquiry or order (see clause 3). 5.1.2 When tested in accordance with BS F 100, the fastness to light of the dyed textile shall be a minimum of standard 4, except where fluorescent colours are required when the fastness to light shall be a minim

31、um of standard 2. 5.1.3 The textile prior to coating shall conform to the requirements of BS F 100, Freedom from corrosive impurities. 5.2 Coating compounds 5.2.1 The elastomer shall be a hydrolysis resistant thermoplastic polyether polyurethane. Where pigmentation is required by the contract or ord

32、er, the pigment used shall be evenly dispersed and shall not adversely affect the weldability of the fabric, and shall contain no polyester polyurethane. NOTE A polyether polyurethane having a Vicat softening point of 608C when tested in accordance with BS 2782-1:Method 120D, usually conforms to thi

33、s requirement. 5.2.2 The coating composition shall contain not less than 90 % (v/v) of elastomer and shall not contain any waxes or other ingredients which will adversely affect the weldability of the fabric. NOTE For a clear coating containing no additives such as fire retardants, the coating compo

34、sition should contain approximately 96 % (v/v) of elastomer. 5.2.3 When tested in accordance with section 3 of BS 6085:1992 using mineral salts agar without nutrient for a period of 28 days, the coating composition shall satisfy the requirements specified in Table 2 (qualification test). 5.3 Coated

35、fabric 5.3.1 Fabrics 572, 8982, 8926 and 1336 shall be coated on one side only whilst fabrics 8925 and 1344 shall be coated on both sides with the elastomer specified in 5.2. The coating shall be even. NOTE The width required should be stated in the purchasers enquiry or order (see clause 3). 5.3.2

36、The coated fabrics shall show no weft deviation (skew and bow) exceeding 30 mm/m of width from a line perpendicular to the selvedge, except for fabric 572 which shall not exceed 70 mm/m of width. NOTE The normal required width of fabric 572 is 1 500 mm. 5.3.3 The coated fabric shall not be treated w

37、ith any dusting agents or silicone on either surface. 5.3.4 The coated fabric shall conform to Tables 2 and 3. 5.3.5 After ageing in accordance with annex B the coated fabric shall conform to Table 4 (Type tests).
