3、d This BritishStandard, one of a series for textiles of a quality suitable for aeronautical purposes, has been revised. During the revision, minor changes only have been made to the technical requirements, but the standard now provides for various widths of webbing. The standard also provides for th

4、e webbing to be rot-proofed and stipulates dye fastness properties for webbing when required in the dyed condition. Provision is now made for the webbing to be identified by a code reference and information regarding the metric equivalents of British units is given in the Appendix. The figures in Br

5、itish units are to be regarded as the standard. This Standard makes reference to the following BritishStandards: BSF100, Inspection and testing procedures for textiles for aeronautical purposes. BS1006, Determination of fastness to daylight of coloured textiles. BS2087, Chemical requirements for tex

6、tiles treated by certain preservative processes. BS2681, Colour fastness to water. A British Standard does not purport to include all the necessary provisions of a contract. 10、cture of the webbing. b) The Residual Alkali Solubility of the yarn shall not exceed1.5per cent. 3 Manufacture a) The weave shall beV twill. b) The selvedges shall be evenly and firmly woven. 4 Construction and properties a) Webbing of the widths listed in Table 1 shall comply with the requirements

11、of the Table. b) Webbing of widths other than those listed in Table 1 may be supplied in accordance with this BritishStandard. In webbing of other widths the details of construction and the properties which are dependent on width shall be proportional to those specified in Table 1; in other respects

12、 the webbing shall comply with the requirements of the Table. 5 Freedom from defects The webbing shall be as free as possible from defects, to the satisfaction of the Inspector. 6 Finish a) If rot-proofing is required, the webbing shall be rot-proofed with: i) Pentachlorophenyl laurate, in accordanc

13、e with BS2087. This proofing is colourless. or ii) Mineral Khaki followed by treatment with pentachlorophenyl laurate (khaki colour conferred by the Mineral Khaki). The treatments shall be in accordance with BS2087 except that the stitch finish required in association with the Mineral Khaki shall be

14、 such that the total of solvent soluble matter (pentachlorophenyl laurate plus paraffin wax) shall be not less than3 and not more than5per cent. b) If dyeing is required, the colour shall be as stipulated in the contract or order. A Sulphur dye shall not be used. The fastness of the colour to light

15、shall be not less than standard5 when tested by the method described in BS1006, and the fastness of the colour to water shall be rating5 when tested by the method described in BS2681. (Type tests.) 7 Sampling and testing a) Unless otherwise agreed with the Inspecting Authority, the selection of samp

16、les and tests for Residual Alkali Solubility, weight and breaking strength shall be in accordance with BS F100. b) Tests designated as “Type tests” shall be dealt with as defined in BS F100. 8 Identification The webbing shall be identified for ordering purposes by the number of this BritishStandard,

17、 together with the relevant designation quoted in Table 1 and, if required dyed, a reference to the colour. For example,1# in. webbing, dyed khaki, shall be identified as “BS2F52/1# in/6b khaki”.
