This class of hose is further divided

13、 into Type 1 and Type 2 according to the design working pressure (see Clause 4). NOTE 1 The requirements and test methods for other types of rubber and plastics suction hoses for fire-fighting purposes are specified in BS EN ISO 14557:2002.This standard is applicable to hoses and hose assemblies tha

19、iven in BS 3558 (both parts) and BS EN ISO 8330 apply.BS 3165:20092 BSI 2009BRITISH STANDARD4 Classification4.1 Hose and hose assemblies shall be classified as follows:a) Type 1: medium duty suction hose with a design working pressure up to and including 0.5 MPa at ambient temperatures in the range

20、30 C to +65 C;b) Type 2: heavy duty suction hose with a design working pressure up to and including 0.75 MPa at ambient temperatures in the range 30 C to +65 C.5 Rubber hose and hose assemblies 5.1 ConstructionSuction hose shall consist of the following components:a) an internal semi-embedded wire h

21、elix;b) a rubber lining;c) textile reinforcement;d) an embedded wire helix;e) a rubber cover.NOTE An illustration of the longitudinal cross-section of a typical Class B hose is given in Figure 1.5.2 Wire helices5.2.1 All helix wire shall conform to BS EN 10324 and shall be galvanized in accordance w

22、ith BS EN 10244-2. 5.2.2 The wire used for the internal semi-embedded helix shall have a minimum tensile strength of 1 250 N/mm2. 5.2.3 The wire used for the embedded helix shall have a minimum tensile strength of 650 N/mm2. 24、 reinforcement applied as a cuff over the soft end and the first turn of the embedded helix. 5.3.3 The length of soft ends shall be as specified in Table 1. 5.3.4 The hose ends shall be capped or sealed to prevent ingress of water. 5.4 Inside diameterWhen measured in accordance with BS EN ISO 4671:2

When visually inspected, the lining and cover shall be free from defects, such as holes and porosity. 5.5.2 Minimum thicknessWhen measured in accordance with BS EN ISO 4671:2007, Clause 9, the minimum thi

27、ckness of the lining and cover shall be as specified in Table 2. For the lining and for the cover, the difference between the smallest thickness measurement and the largest thickness measurement, including overlaps, shall be not greater than 15% of the mean thickness measurement.Table 2 Minimum thic

36、eparate: a) the lining and reinforcement;b) any layers of reinforcement; c) the cover and reinforcement,shall be not less than 1.75 kN/m.6.1.5 Vacuum test with flexingWhen tested in accordance with Annex A, the hose assembly shall not be visibly damaged or have any permanent distortion.6.1.6 Flexibi

39、e tested in accordance with BS EN ISO 1402 at the appropriate proof test pressure specified in Table 5. After the pressure has been held for 5 min the length of hose or hose assembly shall show no signs of leakage or failure. 6.2.2 Vacuum testEach length of hose or hose assembly shall conform to 6.1

40、.3.7 Hose assemblies 7.1 Hose assemblies shall be made from hose conforming to Clause 5 and Clause 6, and suction hose couplings conforming to BS 336.7.2 Hose assemblies shall be measured in accordance with BS EN ISO 4671:2007, Clause 10. NOTE The preferred lengths of hose assemblies are 2.5 m and 3

41、.0 m.7.3 The couplings shall be attached to the hose by either of the following methods:a) bound-in using steel wire conforming to BS EN 10324, with a minimum tensile strength of 380 N/mm2and galvanized as specified in BS EN 10244-2; orb) secured by the use of stainless steel bands and buckle type c

42、lips.BRITISH STANDARD BSI 2009 7BS 3165:20098 MarkingA rubber label shall be vulcanized to the hose approximately 0.5 m from one end, giving the following information:a) number and date of this British Standard, i.e. BS 3165:2009 1), with the class letter B and type number as suffixes; b) hose manuf
