2、 BOLTS (UNIFIED THREADS) FOR AIRCRAFT FOREWORD This revision of British Standard 2A. 171 : 1956 has been prepared to relate the standard to the relevant requirements of British Standard A. 100. Reference is made in the standard to the following British Standards: A.100 Bolts and nuts for aircraft (g

3、eneral clauses). I - .culathg the approximate miltimetre equivalent of the inch dimensions. More accurate conversions should be based on the tables in B.S. 350, ,Conversion factors and tables. -spZIFKA TPO - SCOPE 1. This British Standard specifies the materials, dimensions and inspection requiremen

4、ts for aluminium alloy pan head bolts with Unified threads for aircraft. GENERAL REQUiREhENTS 2. The bolts shall comply with the relevant requirements of Part 1 of British Standard A.100, Bolts and nuts for aircraft (general elauses), in respect of manufacture, screw threads, anti-corrosion treatmen

5、t, identification and marking. 3. The bolts shall be machined from bars which comply with the latest issue of British StandardL-B 4. a. All finished bolts shall conform to the dimensions and tolerances given in Tables 1 and 2. b. The clamping length of the bolt shall conform to the dimensions and to

6、lerances given in Table 2, and shall be such that, when a standard nut without countersink or ring gauge without countersink has been screwed on as far as possible by hand, its leading face is within the distance M MATERIAL AND MANUFACURE DIMENSIONS from the underside of the bolt head. The run-out o

7、f thread shall not exceed twice the pitch. c. The nominal length of the bolt shali be the minimum bearing length L, which is determined by the minimum clamping length M, less two thread pitches. SCREW THREADS 5. The bolts shall have Unified threads of the form and class of fit specified in the relev

8、ant requirements of British Standard A.100, Part 1. .4NTI-CORROSION TREATMEEIT 6. All finished bolts shall be anodized. IDENWICATION Ah?) MAMIKG 7. All bolts shall be dyed green by an appropriate process. NOTE. Because of the use of chromic acid process for anodizing, the bolts will not necessarily
