6、or textiles of a quality suitable for aerospace purposes and constitutes a revision of BS2F114:1975, which is withdrawn. It differs from the previous edition in that the quality requirements specified in the latest edition of BSF100 have been identified. NOTEThe latest revision of an Aerospace Serie

7、s standard is indicated by a prefix number. This standard specifies pentachlorophenyl laurate (PCPL) as a rot-proofing treatment. Alternative treatments are under development, and this standard will be updated to delete PCPL as soon as a suitable alternative treatment for aerospace materials is avai

8、lable. WARNING. This standard calls for the use of substances and/or test procedures that may be injurious to health if adequate precautions are not taken. It refers only to technical suitability and in no way absolves either the supplier or the user from statutory obligations relating to health and

14、the time of issue of this standard are listed on the inside back cover, but reference should be made to the latest editions. 3 General In addition to the requirements specified in clauses4 to9 of this standard, the requirements and tests of BSF100, as listed in Table 1, shall apply. 4 Yarn The fabri

15、c shall be manufactured from cotton yarn. NOTESingles yarns of100dtex grey count for the warp and92dtex grey count for the weft have been found suitable to provide a finished fabric which conforms to Table 2. 5 Weave The weave shall be plain. 6 Finish 6.1 General The fabric shall be supplied either:

16、 a) scoured and rendered rot-resistant; or b) scoured, dyed and rendered rot-resistant. 6.2 Rot-resistance The fabric shall be rendered rot-resistant by treatment with pentachlorophenyl laurate (PCPL) in accordance with BS2087-1:1992, normal process. 6.3 Dyeing If dyeing is required, the colour spec

17、ified by the purchaser shall be documented as stated in clause9. 7 Construction and properties 7.1 General The finished fabric shall conform to7.2 and Table 2. 7.2 Reaction to indicators 7.2.1 Each piece of finished fabric shall be spotted with aqueous solutions of bromo-cresol green and thymol blue

18、. The indicators shall be absorbed immediately on application. 7.2.2 The finished fabric shall show a blue or greenish-blue colour when spotted with with bromo-cresol green and a distinct yellow colour when spotted with with thymol blue. 8 Packaging The fabric shall be made up at full width, on pole

19、s longer than the width of the fabric, or on suitable tubes having a length equal to the width of the fabric. It shall be made up in continuous pieces without joins, rolled tightly and free from creases. 9 Identification The following information, supplied by the purchaser to identify the fabric for

20、 ordering purposes, shall be fully documented: a) the number of this British Standard, i.e.BS3F114; b) the designation given in Table 2, i.e.no.343; and, if required dyed: c) the colour, specified by reference to a British Standard, e.g.BS381C, or otherwise by reference to a pattern. NOTEThis specif
