This revision takes into account accumulated experience since it was first published. The provision for identification by a st

4、andard colour code has been deleted but colour coding may continue to be used by arrangement between the user and the supplier. Items packaged to the requirements of this standard will also meet the packing requirements of ISO1749:1973 “Aircraft Elastomeric sealing rings Packaging and identification

5、”. The identification requirements of ISO1749, however, differ from those specified in this standard. A British Standard does not purport to include all the necessary provisions of a contract. 8、aging 1 5 Identification by colour code 1ii blank3F 69:1979 BSI 04-1999 1 1 Scope 1.1 This British Standard specifies the requirements for the packaging and identification when packaged of vulcanized rubber materials, components and assemblies containing rubber components used for aerospace purposes

9、 unless amended by other contractual requirements. 1.2 The packaging specified not only ensures adequate identification of the components, but also forms an integral part of the controlled storage and inspection procedure (see British Standard F68). 2 Reference This standard makes reference to the f

10、ollowing standards publication. F 68, Controlled storage of vulcanized rubbers for use in aerospace applications. The latest issue of this standard shall be used. NOTEThe latest revision of an Aerospace Series standard is indicated by a prefix number. 3 Packaging 3.1 General 3.1.1 As soon as possibl

11、e after curing, and except as provided in3.1.2, components shall be individually enclosed in hermetically sealed envelopes or in hermetically sealed pockets in a multiple envelope provided that they can be removed without affecting the sealing of the remainder of the components in the package. 3.1.2

12、 Components which cannot conveniently be accommodated in envelopes shall be suitably enclosed or wrapped so as to prevent free access of air. 3.1.3 Packaging shall be accomplished under conditions of low relative humidity i.e.not exceeding65% and under conditions which will also ensure freedom from

13、contamination by dust, oil, grease etc. 3.1.4 Components shall be free from strain. Large components shall be adequately supported and no part shall be tied or tagged. NOTERings of large internal diameter may be formed into three equal superimposed loops so as to avoid creasing or twisting. It will

14、be noted that this condition is impossible to attain in two loops. 3.1.5 When it is necessary for components to be packed in assembly sets such components shall be retained in their original identifying envelopes and the whole shall be inserted to the required quantity in the main package. 3.2 Dimen

15、sions of envelopes. The preferred sizes of envelopes are55mm,100mm,150mm,205mm and 255mm square. 3.3 Packaging materials 3.3.1 Preference shall be given to the use of heat sealable opaque materials. Suitable materials are polyethylene coated kraft paper, aluminium foil/paper/polyethylene laminate an

16、d opaque polyethylene film. Polyvinylchloride (PVC) film shall not be used. If for any reason a transparent or translucent material is used, it shall be over wrapped with an opaque material. Polyethylene film used alone should be of a nominal thickness of not less than754m. 3.3.2 When it is known th

17、at relative humidity in storage will be above75%, packaging with aluminium foil/paper/polyethylene laminate is required to ensure protection from ingress of moisture. 4 Identification on packaging Every package or every pocket in a multiple envelope shall be marked with at least the following inform

18、ation which shall be visible from the outside of the package with the seal unbroken: a) part number; b) material specification number and/or polymer description; c) quarter and year of cure (e.g.3Q81); d) life grouping in accordance with the requirements of F68; e) quantity in package; f) batch numb

19、er or release/certification number; g) manufacturers identity. 5 Identification by colour code Colour coding shall be applied to components only if specifically requested on the drawing or order. The form of code and method of application shall be agreed between the user and the supplier.3F 69:1979
